Albert L. Klingensmith, 78, of Penn Township, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born March 25, 1930, in Penn Township, a son of the late William and Edith Heasley Klingensmith. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an industrial engineering supervisor for the Elliott Co. in Jeannette. He was a member of Denmark Manor United Church of Christ and the Norwin Elks, the Plum Creek Masonic Lodge No. 799 in Monroeville and was an avid golfer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Velma Jean Klingensmith, in 1981; and his second wife, Ivalyn L. Klingensmith, in 2006; two brothers, Bill and Clarence Klingensmith; and a sister, Ethel Kelly. He is survived by four sons, Albert G. Klingensmith and his wife, Randy Sue, of Manor, Dale A. Klingensmith and his wife, Diane, of Trafford, Tom R. Klingensmith and his wife, Kimberly, of Penn Township, and Robert J. Klingensmith and his wife, Michelle, of Penn Township; a stepdaughter, Rebecca S. Lauffer, of Ruffsdale; nine grandchildren, Jaison, Howard, Russell, Brad, Brianna, Jonathan, Michelle, Kathy and Matthew; two great-grandchildren, Hanna and Heath; two sisters, Chelsea Loughner and Agnes Oplinger, both of Greensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Meredith Hutchison officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
