Mary Edna Evans Klingensmith, 73, of Penn Township, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital at Jeannette. She was born Jan. 3, 1936, a daughter of the late Clayton and Helen Evans. In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Glenn W. Klingensmith Sr., in 1992; infant daughter, Mary Klingensmith, in 1962; and a sister, Shirley Evans Ostrowski, in 1986. She is survived by two sons, Clayton Klingensmith and his wife, Nancy, of Piney Flats, Tenn., and Glenn Klingensmith Jr. and his wife, Cammie, of Saltsburg; a daughter, Helen Steel and her husband, Mac, of Penn Township; grandchildren, Karen Steel and Mac Steel Jr., of Penn Township; and two nephews, Dean Ostrowski and Edward Ostrowski and his wife, Lorie, of Latrobe. Besides being a wife of a dairy farmer and raising her family, Mary worked in retail sales for Rite Aid in Delmont and Greensburg and previously for National Record Mart for 30 years. Her other interests include horses and her German Shepherd companions, Chance and Sassy. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at BASH-NIED FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, 724-468-8381, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Debbie Brodahl presiding.
