Came upon a perfectly preserved receipt dtd 27 Feb 1913 made out to John J. KLOS of Herman, Gasconade Co., MO from the Shoe and Leather Reporter in Boston, MA. I have been able to trace the family from St. Louis in 1900 to Herman in 1910, 1920 & 1930 and back to St. Louis in 1930. John was married to Mary and their children were Annie (m. John M. O'SHEA), John, Reo (?), Joseph, Alfred, Aloysius, Frank, Edward, Martha, Louisa & Theodore. John J. and his male children were all shoe makers by occupation. This receipt was found in the pages of a 1904 Home Medical Book recently purchased at an Antique Store on Cherokee St. in St. Louis by a friend.
