Joshua Rian Knarr, 23, of 2010 Cemetery St., Jersey Shore,PA, died early Wednesday morning, Aug. 5, 2009, on Wilson Street in Jersey Shore from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Born Aug. 20, 1985 in Jersey Shore, he was a son of Charles A. Knarr Jr. and the former Michelle R. Martin.

Josh was a 2004 graduate of Jersey Shore High School and was employed by Zartman Construction Company of Northumberland.

Surviving are his parents, Charles A. (Phoebe) Knarr Jr. of Jersey Shore and Michelle R. (Jason R.) Martin Sechrist of Jersey Shore;
paternal grandparents, Charles Sr. and Darla Knarr of Jersey Shore
and Bonnie Knarr of McElhattan;
maternal grandparents, Diana L. Martin of Jersey Shore
and Philip T. (Kathy) Martin of Milton;
two sisters, Kristen N. (Michael) Funk of Jersey Shore
and Lyndsey (Nicholas Domino) Knarr of Jersey Shore;
two nieces, Mykaleigh and Kaedyn,
and a nephew Braelyn.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009 at 10 a.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. The Rev. Kenneth Lynn will officiate. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Josh's name to the SPCA through Citizens and Northern Bank, 230 Railroad St., Jersey Shore, Pa. 17740.

Alice G. Knarr,

Alice G. "Elsie" Knarr, 80, of 20 Clarks Barn Rd., Lock Haven, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008 at Williamsport Hospital.

Born April 7, 1928 in Elmira Heights, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Chester and Marie Baney.

Her husband, Raymond C. Knarr, preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1988.

Elsie worked at the bake shop and Weis Market.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas C. Knarr of Lock Haven and Michael R. Knarr of Lock Haven;
two daughters, Pamela J. Laubscher of Howard
and Katherine A. Dutton of Lock Haven;
a brother, Russell Baney of Liberty;
three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 14, 2008 at noon at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, with the Rev. Viola Tyson officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the S.P.C.A.

I am trying to locate some data on my great grandfather (William Knarr/Knerr) born abt. 1870. Charles Knarr (also appears as Knerr) and Catharine Mauer (also appears as Maurer) had a son William Ellsworth Knarr/Knerr born in Eldred Twnshp, Schuykill County, PA in 1870. He is hown in Eldred in the 1880 census, age 10. There is also a William E. Knarr shown in the 1880 census, age 10, in Lower Augusta, Northumberland County, PA in the household of David K Maurer. Does anyone have any information that 1) establishes that David and Catharine are relatives, 2) that William was visiting a relative and got counted twice in the census?

I'm not sure if this is a fit but I have Fredrich Knerr born 1838 who I think was married to Henrietta ? His father was Georg H Knerr. Later the name was changed to Knarr.
