Dear Philip,
I just received Civil War Pension Records for Samuel Carr. The records mentions Sarah Kneese.
The letter was to the Commission of Pensions. I will transcribe the letter to the best of my ability to read the writing.

State of Ohio County of Ashland

Sir
When our family broke up in 1873 the family bible containing the record of births deaths and marriages of the Carr family was given to my sister Sarah Kneese to care for as she was the oldest of the family.
To the best of my recollection the house was burned in 1878 the entire contents including the family bible.
It contained the only record of my birth that I have any knowledge of I have seen the record many times and feel sure the date given of my birth is correct.
Samuel Carr

Sworn to and subscribed
in my prescence this
8 day of March 1915
at Ashland Ohio

This indicates that Sarah was a part of my family tree. It also indicates that Mary Jane Carr that married Samuel Frederick was not considered the oldest of the Elijah Carr family. This is probably because Mary Jane's mother was Jane Wallick. This does make Mary Jane a half sister. This is my line of our family tree. I have not researched this yet since I just received this last night, however I thought of your inquirey almost immediately.

Sincerely,
Tim Frederick
