I have inherited my Grandmothers collection of newspaper clippings. Trying to distribute them in hopes of helping someone in their search. My Grandmother Clare Elizabeth Mason Taylor lived in Huntingdon County, Pa. and Mifflin County, Pa.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Knepper Hammon MATTHEWS, died at her home, Monday after a long illness. Death was attributed to complications which developed over a period of more than a year.
Born Dec. 14, 1868, near Beavertown,(Pennsylvania) Mary Elizabeth Knepper was the daughter of Charles and Mary Jane (Banks) Knepper. She was twice married. The first union was with John Alexander Hamman. Three children were born to this union. Folllowing the death of her first husband, she was married to William MATTHEWS. Mr. Matthews is also deceased. Mrs. Matthews was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
Surviving are three children: Fred, at home;Mrs Mary Bell and Brinton Hammon, both of Mount Union. (Pennsylvania) There are five grand children and one great grand child.
The following sisters also survive; Mrs Louise Gibson, Mrs. Minnie Etzler, Mrs. Agnes Alman, all of Irwin. Mrs. Mary Hooper of Mapleton, Pa. and Mrs. Harvey Johnson of Altoona, Pa, and Mrs. James Gladfelter of Mount Union, Pennsylvania.
Friends may call at the Clarks funeral home, (Mount Union, Pennsylvania) until 11 o'clock Wednesday morning when the body will be taken to the Pentacostal Church where survices will be held at 1:30 o'clock. Rev. Eugene Benjamin will officiate and internment will made in the IOOF Cemetery at Mapleton, Pa.
