There is another Hannah Knerr listed on Rootsweb (b1869) and her fathe was Oliver Knerr (b6/1846) and married to Isabella Snell - no other information. There are ancestors listed but no siblings for Hannah or husband. This is likely the one you are looking for since your Hannah supposedly had a child named Oliver K.

As an aside, the man I believe is my Benjamin is listed in the 1870 census as living with Franz and Caroline Kramer. Franz was born in 1837 in Wurttemburg Germany.

The wife of John Knerr may have been Elizabeth Landis, the daughter of Abraham and Magdalena Hass Landis. John is mentioned in Abraham's will, it is possible that Benjamin is the son of one of Elizabeth's brothers, Samuel, Aaron, Levi, Henry and or George, probably not Aaron or George as they came to Indiana in the mid 1860s and we can account for their children.

What a pretty name...Amber.
Do you know where your father's family originated from? Ohio, Penn.? Any other information that you have might help trace the family. My father's family originated from Alsace-Lorraine, France...spoke both French and German at various times.
There is a large number of "Knerr" families living in one county in Pennyslvania. Maybe you trace to some of them.
I have just completed a complete genealogy of my ancestors. However, the immigrants all resided in the Lucas County area of Ohio....specifically Toledo area. Though families are so mobile in the 20th. century I think I have documented all of our "Knerr" members.
When was your father born? Do you have any Uncles or Aunts still living that you could talk with for information on the family? Is this the correct spelling of your surname? It has beens spelled many different ways...Knoerr, Knarr, Knerr, plus others. Original was KNOERR...but our typewriters did not have the "umlatt" on them so the "O" was dropped on many who entered the U.S., thus giving it the present spelling. I have one Great Uncle who spells his surname the KNARR way...his name is Heinrich KNARR and he is buried with it that way on his tombstone very near my Grandfather who spelled his KNERR on his tombstone!

Have you tried going on the U.S. Federal Census? Depending upon his birth year whether he is listed as the last ones on the Internet are for the year 1930.

My name is Amber Knerr and I know little about my family history. My fathers name is Larry Donald Knerr. Most of his family that I know of lived and may still live in Montana (Great Falls Area). I have a brother Donald W Knerr. And that I know of 3 half siblings, Adam Knerr, Randilyn Knerr, and Lucas Knerr. Adam is the oldest. If anyone can give me any info or let me know if we may be related. I know of no cousins but my father did have sisters... I'd be interested to know more about that side of my family.

There are so many "Knerr" descendants from Theodor Knerr. It's kind of like counting the number of sands on the beach! Thank you for the reply but I am coming to the close of my search for our family geneology. I am working at the present time on updating those in the 14th. Generation of our document. Plans are to print the book for our family in the next few months.

I ran across an old file that has a little info in it on her. Ruby Sapp, m. marion eugene knerr about 1975 in Pinellas County, Fl.

have you tried getting a copy of her death certificate? Sometimes there is family information on it. Try the Pinellas County, Fl court records or the Florida Bureau of Vital Statistics in Jacksonville, FL.for copies.

I have her in my family genealogy as his 4th. wife and she died in 1977 of cancer.
Uncle Marion has a daughter, Shirley Jean Knerr Pleasant living in Dunedin, Pinellas Co., FL. Shirley has a son, name Patrick Pleasant living near her. Maybe you could get a phone number for one of them.
I have a phone number for Shirley that is several years old but you might try it. It is 1-727-733-5877 You might check the area code....it has changed in our area several times over the past few years....too many cell phones! I hope they can help you. Shirley is now 71 years old but should know Ruby's background. Good luck.

This young man does not appear to be a member of my KNERR family tree. My KNERR ancestor's immigrated and settled in the Toledo, Ohio area. I know of none of our family who settled in Penn.

Looking for Knerr / Landis connection c.1860

In the 1860 US Fed Census, Lowhill Twp, Lehigh Cty, PA, I found a Benjamin Landis (age 12) living with the Knerr family. This Benjamin might be my g-grandfather, and I'd like to find what ties him to this family. Here's the household info:

Jonas (b. 1822) married to Juliann(a?) (b. 1822) with daughters Amelia (b. 1855) and Sarah (b. 1857). The second family in that residence is Jonas mother, Elizabeth (b. 1804) with son Aaron (b. 1830), daughter Abigaile (b. 1844) and Benjamin Landis (b. 1848). There's no indication what role Ben played in that family.

Further research indicates that Elizabeth Knerr was with wife of John Daniel Knerr (b. 14 Aug 1790, d. 14 Jan 1855) and that they had several other children.

Does anyone have knowledge of their connection to Landis?

My family stories are vague. Ben in my brick wall. Apparently, he never revealed much family info other than saying he came from Germany as a boy to live with his uncle in the Allentown area. All census records that include Ben have his birthplace as PA.

Any help is HUGELY appreciated!

1. Abraham1 Knerr was born ABT 1717 in probably nr Berg, Alsace, France, and died April 21, 1793 in Lowhill Twp., Northampton/Lehigh Co., Pennsylvania. He married Maria_Eva Faess ABT 1740 in Germany, daughter of Andreas Faess and Anna Eichenberger.

They appear to be grandparents to our Abraham Knerr that moves to and died in 1854 Knox County, Ohio. we descend thru:

I am seeking any genealogy information on my Great Grandmother Hannah Knerr. She was born around 1869. Birthplace unknown. She married a Joseph Wilson around 1890. Place of marriage unknown. They had four children, Rosanna about 1891, Berkley about 1895, Lewis W. about 1899 and Olive K about 1903. I do not know her mother or father's name. Last word I had was that they lived in Oklahoma.

No, sorry. That is all I have. It came off of the U.S. Census report of 1880 I think. Or else the SSDI for California. I could go back and look that up if it will help you.

Still unable to bring anything up on your family except your Grandfather's name and his ancestors. George McReddie Jones shows only that he was b. in Punjab, India and was able to print out U.S.Census 1930 for him and his immediate family....unable to go any further. Need name of Family Tree to research.
Any other help you can give on the KNERR family would be appreciated. Thank you.

Have you checked John Knarr's website yet? Has plenty of data. Note that some of us spell our name Knarr. I am a descendant of William Ellsworth Knerr/Knarr which makes us really distant cousins. Have you been to Lowhill Church Cemetary? Some of the people you mentioned, i.e. Wilbur, are buried there.

Thanks for the information on Abraham Knerr. I am actually confused as ancestry.com has Abraham Knerr born 1714 and also 1716 - two different wives: Maria Eva Vogelsang and Maria Eva Faess - both born the same date but at different locations and both deaths the same date - and most of the children are the same names and birthdates for each wife: Was he married twice?? One marriage date given is 1740 for Ms. Faess and 1741 for Ms. Vogelsang. What is the problem with these entries??? I am related through Johannes Knerr, born 8-11-1747 and incidently he is listed under both women as a son. Hope someone can help. Thanks

Who are you searching for? Are you in the Knerr line?

I had put my early research on WFT Vol. 27, tree # 3259 and my cousin had put his on WFT Vol, 2, Tree # 6285.
Since those were published we have located many more of the family. But, I have not listed it anywhere else yet. Still researching.

Fred is my grandpa's brother and married by grandma's sister. Knerr brothers married Cumiskey sisters in 1890 in Toledo, Ohio. Grandpa is Henry George Knerr. Fred and Mary Ann had three daughters; Mary L., Mae and Theresa. Mary Ann died in Dec. 1895 following birth of Theresa in Nov.
Mary L. married William A. Huepenbecker. Another married Carl Ingram. Are any of these your family members? If so please contact me direct: dkizer@comcast.net.
