I am just beginning research on a Pheobe Kniffen, which my aunt wrote down as Niffen. She did not know if the spelling was correct. Phoebe was born circa 1800 and married to a Daniel Lounsbury of New York. She had at least one daughter, Caroline Lounsbury, born in New York around 1835. I have no further information. If anyone has any idea of the correct spelling or connection it will be greatly appreciated.
