Information on Knobloch relatives needed

Looking for information on several Knobloch ancestors and possible relatives:

Eugene Knobloch - 24 Jun 1851 - 07 Apr 1920
Bertha Knobloch - 24 Apr 1854 - 23 Nov 1927
Antonio Knobloch
Katchen Knobloch

These were all children of Martin Knobloch and Mary Beuler of Bavaria.

Adolf Knobloch - abt 1855 - After 1930 of New York State
Wife Marie
Children:
Bertha - b. 1885
Gustav - 27 Jun 1889 - 16 Mar 1922 in St. Louis
Carl - b. 1996
Brunhilde - b. 1898

I know that these two families are somehow related, but I cannot find the connection. Gustav Knobloch of the second family was living, at one time, with Eugene Knobloch of the first family, listed as a nephew, however there is no indication that Eugene had a brother named Adolf.

Any information would be appreciated
I have contacted you before asking you for pictures of Julius Knobloch. I have gathered some information on this bunch. Julius' son Louis had a son Robert who was the father of my ex father inlaw. I would be glad to share with you what I have but I don't know anything before Julius. Still working on this every chance I get.

Janice

Gus, Lehma(Selma)(Zihna),Hermann,Fedir(Feder) Olga, Aug. Knobloch/Kables

I have been searching for a few years trying to find when Selma, Herman, and Fador Kables came across to America from Germany. We were told by Herman's daughter, Lorita, age 99, that there were possibly 6 children that came on the ship together. I recently found their names, but the last name was Knobloch, which we had heard from descendents of Selma's family. They were teased and called blockhead and thus changed their last name to Kables. Selm married an Orwick and they were in Minnesota and then moved onto Oregon. Their ages all seem accurate on the immigrant list. Does anyone have any more information to help with our family tree. The ship was "State of Georgia" Place of origin-Germany. Port of Departure: Glasgow, Scotland, and Larne Ireland. Arrival New York on May 24, 1882. One list says 1883. I also found them listed at www.castlegarden.org on their list. I would like to find Gus who was 19yrs at the time, Olga 8 yrs, and Aug. 4 yrs at that time. I have photos of Selma, Herman and Fador if anyone can make a connection to our family. Thanks for reading. Betty

I've had sick folks to take care of and that kind of limits my genealogy time (which can be very addicting, as you probaly have found).

The questions I have are regarding whether Julius has any known siblilngs, and whether anyone has any information on his parents.

I will be happy to share any information that I have with you. I have met a few others through ancestry who are decendents of Julius J Knobloch, and they have been extremely helpful. My ex father-in-law is the son of Robert Joseph, son of Lewis Francis, son of Julius Joseph. Would love to exchange information if you'd care to.

Janice

So far, you seem to be the best informed of any I've read,so I will take a chance and ask whether you've run across a Julius Joseph Knoblock, b. 1833,emigrated to N.Y.
in 1859. escaping a death sentence for treason, born in Obermiorllich, Fitzlar-Homberg, Hesse, Germany. If you haven't seen anything of him, please tell me how I can look into his birth record. I would like to know who his parents are & whether he had any siblings.
I would appreciate any assistance that you could give me.
Margaret F.

Hi Chris...prior to her marriage to Joseph Wevers, Rosalee Knobloch was married to George Prater and had three daughters: Mary Elizabeth (my mother), Katherine, and Mildred. When I was a child I used to go to their house after school every day on Camellia in North St. Louis. Email me if you get the chance at myteeglad@hawaii.rr.com and I'll see if I can dig up anything else. Hope this helps some.

Knobloch, Peter 1821-1877 Hesse-PA-OH-IN

I am looking for information on this family. Peter Knobloch immigrated to the US from Hesse Darmstadt in 1857 along with his wife Barbara and children Lizzie, Jacob and Louisa.

They first appear in the 1860 Census for Meadville/Crawford/Pennsylvania.

Then again in the 1870 Census for Meadville/Crawford/Pennsylvania. By this time Barbara is dead; Rehana is shown as wife, and children Charles, Adam, Susan, Mary, and William are added. Also, two children with the last name of Mepersal(?) John and Lana.
While it is indicated for the Knobloch children that their parents were foreign born, it is not so with these two.

By 1880 the family is in York/Sandusky/Ohio with Rachel as head (it is assumed that Rachel is Rehana?). Peter died in 1877 according to the Civil War Pension Index. The Mepersal children are now going as Knobloch and children John, Christian, Louis and Lora are added.

Louisa is my 2nd great grandmother. She married Jacob Wable in Ohio and they died in Delaware County, IN.
Happy New Year Cousin Terry,

Your Katharina Knoblock was Catharine nee Muller who married Daniel Knobloch. Catharine Knobloch, their daughter, born 15 Feb 1833 in Albich/Albig County of Alzey, Grand Duchy of Hessen-Darmstadt was confirmed in Erie, PA at St. John's Lutheran Church on 31 May 1846, 1st day of Pentecost per St. John's Lutheran Church Parish Book I, Page 162 #6.

This may be the Daniel Knobloch of Albig who was born 28 Mar 1798 son of Philipp Jakob Knobloch and Maria Katharina Clauss. This couple had the following children: Daniel, Anna Elisabetha (married Philip Seib/Seip and moved to Erie, PA), Johnnes, George, Christina, Katharina, Wilhelm, Joachim, and Heinrich (b. 28 Jan 1819 per German records and also in Erie's St. John's Lutheran Church Records).

In 1846 the following Knobloch's were contributing to St. John's in Erie: Joachim, Heinrich, and Daniel.

I wasn't collecting records on Daniel when I was in Erie so there may be more there. I do have a "Elisabeth Knobloch born 24 June 1835 in Albich/Albig, Grand Duchy of Hessen, confirmed 11 June 1848, Pentecost, parents: The late Daniel Knobloch and Catherania nee N.N. (German abbreviation for "name unknown") Minister Fr. Ph. Feysel St. John's Lutheran Church, Erie, PA, Book 1 page 165 #3. So maybe if this is the correct Daniel, he died in Erie.

Diane,
Do you know the name of your grandfather's father? Did any of your Knoblochs ever live in Buffalo, NY? Were they from Hesse-Darmstadt?

My GGGrandfather was named Charles Knobloch and he lived in Buffalo in 1860. Nearby was a family headed by John Knobloch. Charles and John were 2 years apart in age and may have been brothers or cousins. Both were born in Hesse-Darmstadt and both were brewers.
Diana, forgive me for not responding to this query, but we got off on your note on another chat board and I forgot about this. Well, now I cannot find the 1870 census with Fredericka and William (W.C., Sr.) for Buffalo, Erie County. I have turned everything upside down. My mother had found it on microfiche in the 1970's, and I had seen it recently. Unfortunately, I have not been working on this line for over a year and have not finished record-making. Here's what I recall, and I will follow up and send you the page number:

Fredericka was listed as head of household but her last name was misspelled as "Knobloz", occupation homemaker or "at home"; Wiliam was present, as was a daughter Elizabeth, aged 7. No Charles in the home. But these were the right people because Fredericka's age and birth and William's age and birth were correct, and we know he had a younger sister named Elizabeth. The family had moved from the 1860 census, and I believe they had changed from the 7th ward to the 4th. Don't know why I recall that. I have diaried this for 30 days and will try to get back. Also, my brother may have found where Charles is buried, and he is pursing that now. We have added your name to the Knobloch list for this information also. Kay

Re: New York Knoblochs

I think I may have found a member of your family in searching for mine. I found a Carolus (Carl) Knobloch who died in Utica, NY, in July 1869, buried at St. Joseph's Church. The entry from the church is written in Latin and mine is rusty, but it says that this Carl was born to the legitimate marriage of Joseph Knobloch and Anna Maria Liesenfeld, married (can't make out the date in Latin). It may be that your Joseph was named for this Joseph. Maybe not. If you would like, I can scan the information sent by the church and send it to you. Send e-mail.

I am looking for a Charles Knobloch who died between 1866 and 1867. He lived in Buffalo, NY, but I found this Carl (Charles) who died during the right time buried in Utica, so I
followed up. I don't think he is mine.

Kay Knobloch

Pickard family Bible owned by Knoblochs of Detroit

I am trying to locate the Pickard family Bible that was last thought to be in the possession of Jennie and Alvin Knobloch or Knoblock of Detroit. Jennie was born in St. Marys Ontario as a Pickard and the Pickard family bible went to Detroit with her when she married. She passed away around 1975. We think this Bible contains valuable information for those of us interested in Pickard genealogy.

Gloria,
Jacob and Louisa Wable (Knoblock) are buried at Saunders
Cemetary in Daleville, In., Delaware Co. I found it just a few days ago. There are also a couple of "HAHN's" there. I'm trying to find where Jacob Knoblock is buried in Delware Co.
There are several Knobloch's also buried at Saunders Cem.
Gale

New York Knoblochs

I am looking for info about my FIL's family. My FIL was Joseph Daniel Knobloch, probably born in Utica in march 1918 to Albert hKnobloch. Unfortunately, Joe was an only child and died in 1992. His mother was Josephina Heinz. They both died in California. The SS index has them both listed with the same number. I wrote the SSA for info almost 3 months ago and haven't heard back yet. Do any of these folks sound familiar?

Dear Kay

That would be great. My daughter's Latin teacher will take a look at it and translate it for us. (Recently had a big discussion w/ the teen across the street about wheather Latin was a dead language! VBG) It will at least give a starting point. MIL thinks that Josephina and Albert were born in Utica but she says she can't remember very well.

Thanks again.

Cherry
Earthechos@yahoo.com
