my great grandmother's parents were Barnet Halper and Rebbeca Finklestien! Her name was Racheal. I beleave she had a sister named Ida and a brother named Max and i do beleave there were more children. Racheal married a Mr. Rosehbaum and had my grandmother Lillian. She also had a son named Teddy and i think one named Max (and i beleave a child who died very young) Mr. Rosenbaum died in the flu epidemic of 1918. Ray (as she went by) married two more times, once to a man who had a traveling circus and then to a Mr Rae. My grandmother Lillian Rosenbaum married my grandfather Philip Broselofsky. They had two children. My father Jack and my uncle Robert. My father married my mom Elsie Mehrer and they had myself and my sister. I would very very very much appreciate any other information on Barnet Halper and Rebbecca Finklestien. I did find that he was from Rusia and she was from England. Any information is greatly greatly appreciated.

I see this was posted a while ago but thought I'd give it a shot. We do not know much more than My Grandfather Meyer Micheal Koenigsberg was the son of Louis and Claire Koenigsberg. We think he had several brothers and sisters from the new york area, but that's about it. If this sounds familar please email me to help us fill in the pieces. Thanks, portage, PA, tonikoenigsberg@hotmail.com

I collect Chicago vintage postcards, and one of my oldest cards is to Miss Irma Koenigsberg, 135 Garden St., San Antonio Texax. Postmarked from Chicago Dec. 29, 1902. I'd be happy to scan front and back for any interested family members. Message: "My Dear Little Sweetheart: I am well, how are you? With lots of love and kisses. From Your Papa." I have hundreds of cards, but I thought this was a sweet message.

There is a Koenigsberg line that apparently was in Germany for some time. My GGGrandmother, Anna Koenigsberg married Henry/Hinkle Seabrands/Siebrands in Germany before 1866. He married Wilhelmina/Wilhelmine/Minnie Hass in Hardin County, Iowa. She was born in Brandenburg, Germany.

I have been told that there are many, many Koenigsberg lines. Does any of this look familiar to anybody?

John S.

Susan,
I have some info tracing back Benjamin Koenigsberg’s ancestry. My father’s maternal great-grandparents were Rebecca Finklestein(or Finkelstein), and Barnett(or Barnet) Halper. Rebecca’s first husband was Julius Koenigsberg. They had 2 children, Benjamin and Julia. Benjamin married Mae Roche. I didn’t know her maiden name prior to reading your post. From the info I have they had 3 children, Solomon, Julia and “Sonny” or “Sunny”. Mae died and Benjamin remarries Tessie, (unknown maiden name). They had three children, (names unknown).
Solomon marries Susan. Is that you?
Julia marries James Roche( I had the last name, not the first). They had one daughter, Dolly.
I have no info on “Sonny” or “Sunny”. We have conflicting info. Perhaps it was a nickname for Solomon or maybe it was the name of 1 of the children Benjamin had with Tessie.
When Julius died Rebecca remarried Barnett(Barnet) Halper. They had 7 children! I have a lot of info on the Halper side. Most of the info on the Koenigsberg/Halper ancestry was provided by my grandmother who has since passed, and my great-aunt. Any other info you have on the Koenigsberg family would be greatly appreciated.

Karen
Interestingly, I have info about Koenigsbergs in England, I have no idea if they are related to me, but I can look up the info and get it to you. The person in England, who I have spoken with, has a tremendous amount of information and could be a relative of both you and me. I also don't know how the name Koenigsberg was gotten in my family. My grandfather was born here because his mother was pregnant with him. His father was David and mother Carrie Glasner Koenigsberg. David had lots of brothers who did go to New York. Do you know if your grandfather had cousins in NY??

(his fiirst wife) solomon's sister julia only other child before Mae died)Never married. Benjamin remarried and two more children entered the family. I am working on tracing back Benjamin's ancestry now, but am having trouble. I know he had some brothers maybe sisters we was very big in politics and was known by Theodore Roosevelt. Unfortunately most of the relatives have passed and i am working from bits and pieces. found in 1930 living in manhattan NY. says he came from England. there was a name change because of Jewish russian background. coming through prussia. Koenigsberg was taken from a street sign no knowledge of prior name.
