I received correspondence from someone in New York City with the surname Baiamonte [which is my surname]...and he said he was Jewish and sent me documentation that says we are related. I am Catholic and know of no one in my family who is Jewish. How can I find out if I am Jewish? Is Baiamonte a Jewish name...and what do I do with this guy who has sent me documents showing that we are close relatives?
Does anyone have any information that can help me?
