Hi. My Aunt, Helen Kolos, lived in Detroit in the 1970's. She was not from Detroit though, Northern California.

This is the grave marker of my mother.

I just started getting into learning about our names.

I have found that her Grandfather, name Michiel Kolos - pronounced Michael, came from Poland. His wife's name was Anne, I do not have her maiden name. They settled in the Detroit, MI area.

They had 3 children, one of who would be my Grandfather. His name was also Michael and he married a Stolaruk from Russia.

There are many Kolos' in the Detroit, MI area.
