My family grew up in Ludington, MI (northwest MI), though we have many Konopka relatives in the Detroit area. My grandfather, who died before I was born, I think around 1968, was Bernard Konopka, son of Walter Konopka ______ (forgot her name). They came to the U.S. from Poland (near Krakow) in ____.
