WOW!!!! This is so totally incredible. I don't even know what to say. F.Y.I I've reset my password & made a new user name in the process that accounts for the new user name. I was not excpecting to find you, I was even going to call the realty place as I found your house is up for sale & I thought maybe they could give me some Info. I didn't even know If you were still the owner or if it had already changed hands. I was telling my husband George about my childhood as I showed him all the pictures on the realty site & could see there were allot of beautiful updates to the house. I did notice a few things that signaled u may still be the occupants. I was very sad to see it there on the market but happy I got a chance to share pictures with George (such a beautiful house) How are you? How is your family? I prey that question can be met with positives as it has been so, so long that I have known anything about your family. I have to expect anything I guess.
George called me from work to tell me that Julie has left an email & I was blown away. I would really love the chance to talk with you, be it by email or phone. If you want to keep in ancestry.com that would be ok too. We have been in Santa Monica California for almost 3 years now. I am dog training & my George is an editor (tv,film,etc.) by day and a writer/actor as is the rest of L.A.
You have always been close to my heart as we shared such an incredible bond as children. I owe it to you to appologize about any worry I may have caused you in the past as I was pretty troubled back then with so much weighing on me. I send you my sincere appologies because you deserve it! My life now is boring & exciting all at the same time. One thing is for sure is that all the craziness of my teens is a distant blur.

John arrived in Baltimore in 1892. He is next found in Erie, PA in 1900. When he arrived in the US he brought his wife Josephina, children Edw,Stanislava, Cheslas, & Leveadia. They became know as last name Knopke. First names (in the same order) Josephine, Edward, unknown, Raymond Chester, & Eleanor. I am seeking info on Stanislava Von Konopka (Knopka, Knopke) and John's father, Baron Robert Von Knopke (Konopka, Knopka). I have info on the others to share if interested.

If the village of Rogoz(i) is in Poland, I would recommend that you post on Poland's Ancestry and Genforum. The LDS-Mormons (Family History Center) website is listing some church records but I am not familiar with research in Poland.

I am looking for any information pertaining to the following members of my Konopka family.

Parents
Franzek (or Frank) Konopka (1862-1941)
Frances Konopka (1862-1954)

Children
Leo Konopka
Rose Konopka (married name Quinn)
Matilda Konopka (married name McDermott)
Catherine Konopka (married name Brown)

Franzek (or Frank) and Frances arrived in the United States from Poland in about 1893. They lived in Syracuse, NY (possibly with a sister of Frances); Carbondale, PA, where I believe all four children were born; Jersey City, NJ; and Bayonne, NJ.

Any information would be appreciated!

The village they came from is very important in trying to acertain whether or not they might be related to other Konopkas. My Konopkas were from the Szczutkow-Lukawiec area near Lubaczow currently in Poland.
Where do yours originate from??

I've come across Konopkas in different parts of Ukraine and the only ones I'm related to are from Szczutkow/Lukawiec... now in Poland.
You need to determine where they came from which might mean that you have to do more questioning and digging into public records.
You might try subscribing to : Galicia_Poland-Ukraine@yahoogroups.com there are many knowledgeable people in that group who could help you.
The site: http://www.onyschuk.com/ has alot of good info on researching in Ukraine. the webmaster Jim Is also part of the yahoo group.
www.halgal.com is another site with good info

Thanks for replying! I do not know where they originated from. My grandfather passed away quite a few years ago and he was the last of his siblings. There was a rift it the family when my mother was very young. The only information I have been able to get has been from my grandmother. She does not know much about the family. Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for information regarding my g-grandparents Stanaslaus & Sophia (Rutkowski) Konopko. I was told by family members that Konopko was originally Konopka. Stanaslaus & Sophia were both born in Poland. They immigrated to the US sometime before 1909.

They had 7 children that I am aware of:

My grandfather was Antoni Konopka, born in Poland in 1889. He came to NY in the early 1900s with his sister, then settled in CT. We have been told that his sister settled on a farm somewhere in NY, however, the family has no other information on his sister. Their parents were Julian Konopka and Rosalia Farinska. I'd be thrilled to hear from anyone who may have information on my grandfather's sister or information on relatives in Poland.

My relative Walter was Erich Konopka' nephew and his parent's name was Fritz and Minna Chudaska Konopka who lived in Wilhelmshof, East Prussia.
Walter's wife was Margaret who was a school teacher and he would be approximately 85 years old today.

My great grandfather Johann had about 7 sons, of which one was my grandfather Erich Konopka. I do not know the names of the other siblings. They lived in East Prussia region of Ortelsburg in the villages of Zawoyken, Williamshof, and Friedrichshof. Where is your family from?
