Jesse Ray Koon
of Edinboro died Tuesday, August 19, 2008. He was born in Fairmont, West Virginia on April 28, 1931 and was the son of the late Issaac G. and Edna Tuttle Koon. Jesse was a life long resident of Edinboro
and a member of the Edinboro First United Presbyterian Church.
He farmed most of his life and drove school bus for the General McLane School District. He was a member of the Erie County Farmland Preservation Board,
Erie County Conservation District,
Edinboro Lions Club, West County Shrine,
and the NCT Camping Group.
In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marjorie,
two sisters,
and one brother.
He is survived by his son Earl Jesse Koon and his wife Teresa, two grandchildren Jessica
and Earl John Koon, and his step grandson John Winkelbauer. Further survivors include a sister Beryle Serivens,
brothers Issaac Koon, his wife Eleanor,
Jack Koon and his wife Jane,
step mother Mable Koon,
two sister-in-laws Marie Koon
and Lois Shelhamer,
along with many nieces and nephews.
There will be no services. Memorial donations may be made to the Erie County Conservation District, 1927 Wager Road, Erie, PA 16509. The Glunt Funeral Home, Edinboro is in charge of funeral arrangements.
