Hi Scotty,

I am the son of Lawrence Kornacki, the third oldest living child of Ed and Georgine (Orr) Kornacki. I talk with Grandma Orr on a monthly basis so maybe we can sit down and I can get some info for you about our family tree. Let me know specifics on what you are looking for. I'll try my best to get the info you need.

Trent Kornacki

well i'm sorry to say that my search for family members and info hasn't turned up much...i've talked to our cousin trent on myspace...grandma orr lives on his dads (uncle larry)property, in arizona. i talked to grandma the other day she mentioned that they haven't heard from you in years...but other than that not much...i've tried getting names and dates from my dad but he can't remember much...our grandpa edward died when my dad was young...i guess grandpa edward was born in approximately 1904 and died in 1959...so that's about it...oh yeah and uncle ed has some kids down in florida too, roxanne and sherry i think that's their names, older than me though by a lot i think...i remember meeting them in gainsville fl when i was young and they were adults so they've got to be at least 10-15 years older or more...i'm gonna keep looking though!

Hello Danielle,
How are you doing? I hope that everything is okay with you. You are the first Kornacki that I have heard from in a long time. My wife is the geaneaology buff. I have barely been online in recent years. No one in the family talks to me. I don't even know what Uncle Ed's real name is. I only have about 10 names in my family tree. My dad, (Dennis) will spend weeks or months at my 2 sisters house and came by my house 2 or 3 yrs ago for a 20 minute visit. I haven't heard from him since. I live in Tennessee, which is midways between Ohio and Texas and I live about 20 miles off of I-40 which he drives down, passes my exit up and keeps on going. I haven't heard from MaryJo in 4,5 or 6 yrs. She lives down by Pikeville, Tn. Denise lives about 40 miles away. She is an alcoholic, (control freak), who doesn't want me to talk to her kids and tell them things that she doesn't want them to know. So, we don't talk either. Mom,(Linda), went to Texas a year ago for a 2 week visit with Valerie. She hasn't come back yet, and I don't think that she will. So my wife and I live up here on the mountain, by ourselves and love the privacy. No BS from family. As you may have surmised, I am the Black Sheep of the family and kinda like it that way. I can't get any info out of anybody about our family and just kind of gave up on it. I don't have any children. I suffer from a Genetic condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome type III Hypermobility which has a 50% probability in any children I may have, so I don't have any. I wouldn't wish this condition on any child of mine. It comes thru on my mothers side of the family. Valerie and Denise both have it also and so does some of Denises children. If you wouldn't mind sharing some of the Kornacki Tree, I sure would appreciate it. All that I could contribute would be Denise and Valeries' childrens' info if that would help you any. Scotty Kornacki.

Re: Kornacki (Kokornaczki)

My husband's late-mother, Helen, was a Kornacki. Her family claimed Polish ancestry. However, as you did, I find many Kornackis are of Russian ancestry. Many Russian families moved into Poland and other parts of Europe. Stanley's social security card reflected the spelling that is in parenthesis but his children's records reflect the more common spelling of the name. Stanley Kornacki spent many years in New Jersey, later moving into Brooklyn, NY after his family was grown. He had a brother, Teddy, who owned a butcher shop in Newark, NJ. There were other relatives in Easton, Pa. I don't know if he had kin in upstate NY.

Jan Kornacki and Valerianna Hyzenska-Kornacka

Jan (1878-1942) and Valerianna (1892-1968) both lived in Poland and lived in the village of Czarne, Poland (around the time of WWI). They had 7 children and never immigrated to the U.S. Their children were Joseph, Stella (my great grandmother), Chester, Sophie, Pauline, Felix, and Irene. Of the 7 children, only Stella ever immigrated to the
U.S. (to my knowledge). Stella Kornacki passed away in 2000 in Kalkaska, MI. Her hasband, Chester Zur, passed away in Detroit, MI in 1965. Stella and Chester had 2 children: Regina and Evelyn Zur. Both of their daughters married Baranowski brothers and still remain today although their husbands have passed on. Regina is my grandmother.

Stella's sister, Pauline married Kasimer Wojtewicz who was a U.S. citizen by birth right. Kasimer (Sr.) had 2 children from a previous marriage: Regina and Kazimierz, Jr. He and Pauline had George (Jerzy is polish equiv.) together. During the WWII period, Kasimer moved to the U.S. in hopes of bringing the entire family over to the U.S. Pauline joined the Polish resistance in the meantime and she and Regina were taken away by the Germans shortly thereafter. Kasimer got his two sons immigrated to the U.S. in 1947. Since then, Kazimer Sr. (of St. Clair Chores and Wayne, MI)and Jr. (of Texas) have both passed on. George remains today and lives near Port Huron, Michigan.

I know I'm searching for a needle in a haystack, but if there are any other possible Kornacki/Kornacka relations out there that I can get in touch with, it would be wonderful to hear from you!

Everett Baranowski
(maestrobaran@aol.com)

Jennifer..I just came across your message from last August. Don't know if you remember me but my husband Walt is your dad's cousin. We went to your wedding. Walt and his sister Frances are currently gathering info on the Kornacki family. Your ggrandfather and ggrandmother were Jan Kornacki and Franceszka Chomicz. Fran has other info and as soon as we put it together we will share it with you and your family. Say hello to mom and dad.
Norma
