Hi Allan, thank you for taking the time to answer my posting. I don't know very much about the Kornblue's, because they were my biological family, and I am one of the many adoptees trying to find a birth family. So, I am sorry I can't help you out with much.
My biological mother was unmarried in 1956, in New York, when I was born. Her maiden name, Kornblue, is on my legal papers as my mother; father was said to be "unknown". My name at birth was Iris Kornblue and I was born in Staten Island, NY. The Kornblue's were from some other part of NYC, but my mother was sent to a "home for unmarried women" in Staten Island when she was pregnant. So, I imagine this was some sort of family secret. From the information I found on the Internet, I think Harry Kornblue was my grandfather. He would have been about 100+ now, was living in NYC, and since the name is so unusual, I think he is the one. I don't know what my mother's married name would be--the only connection I have is "Kornblue". I know there are some Kornblue's in California, and others in Florida--I may write to them some day, but I wanted to do some research first. I believe my grandmother was a bookkeeper or accountant, and that they were fair with blue eyes. I thought the Kornblue side was Austrian or German, but I am not sure. I am sorry to ramble on, but I wonder if this story sounds at all familiar to you? Any information would be greatly appreciated! Please don't think I am interested in $$$ ( I am a professional), it is just that I am an only child with one living parent--and very little other family. Thank you very much, Randye (I live in San Diego
