Lester is pictured in the 1943 yearbook of the 20th Ferrying Group, based at Nashville, Tennessee. Their duty was to transport aircraft from the United States to the Allied front. I'm not kin but thought this might help others researching family.
Helen Sarah KORNHAUSER died 17 April 1937

Helen Sarah KORNHAUSER was the daughter of Morris D. KORNHAUSER and Rose GOLDFUSS (death certificate). When she died at the age of 21, a single woman, due to subacute bacterial endocarditis and chronic rheumatic cardiovalvular disease, her address was 1700 Harrison Ave. in the Bronx. She is buried in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.

I ordered the death record for her, and realized that she was not related to the family I was researching.

Bonnie

Hi Bonnie,

I believe I can unravel the "mystery". Libbie Kornheiser did indeed pass away in 1922. After her death, Emil began dating a married woman, (Milicent) who originally was from England with Russian roots. They began to live together and to keep up appearances, Emil just left Libbie's name on the census, but changed the birthdate and parental information to that of the woman he was living with. Once Milicent was divorced, Emil married her.

I can email you additional information that you may find interesting about Samuel Kornheiser if you would like.
Hi Peggy.

I consider it my good fortune that you replied to my post. I suspected Emil was Libbie's husband, but there was something mystifying about the census entries for Emil.

I have the 1910 census image for Emil with his parents and siblings, including "Mollie." And I have the 1920 census image that shows Emil with Libbie and a 3-year-old daughter named Helen. Finally, the 1930 census shows Emil with a woman named Libbie and 13-year-old Helen. Libbie KORNHEISER died in 1922. The Libbie on the 1930 census is a year younger than Libbie KORNHEISER, and her parents were born in Russia, not Hungary. Still, I was a little dubious about the situation. That is why I did not name Emil as the husband of Libbie.

If you haven't already done so, you can see my file on the KORNHEISERS, but not the KORNHAUSERs, at WorldConnect at
http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=kohlerb.... My email address is there, as well, if you would like to email me. I would enjoy comparing notes with you.

Other than the fact that I became interested in this family, I am not related to them. Libbie KORNHEISER'S mother was Sarah SCHAGRIN. Sarah had a sister named Bertha. Bertha married Charles GRUBER. Charles GRUBER was the brother of Bonnetta "Birdie" GRUBER. Birdie married my grandmother's brother, Leonard Ava BAKER.

Best regards,

Bonnie

Hi Bonnie,
I believe Libbie's husband was her 1st cousin Emil Kornhauser. Emil is my maternal grandmother's brother. My grandmother passed away in 1966, and I have just begun looking into the family tree. My grandmother's name was changed from Malia Kornhauser to Margaret when she married Frank Dallmeyer in 1919. The Kornheiser's may remember my grandmother as Molly Kornhauser.
Would love to hear from you since I have other family history as well!

Peggy

Hi All.

I am seeking the name of Libbie KORNHEISER'S husband. Her married surname on her death certificate was KORNHAUSER. She died in 1922 after giving birth to a stillborn child.

Libbie was the daughter of Samuel KORNHEISER, a tailor from Hungary, and Sarah SCHAGRIN, also from Hungary.

I hope you can help.

Thanks.
Bonnie
