Paul J. Kovac, 66, of 43 E. High St., Coaldale, died Friday in Coaldale Hospital after a lengthy illness. His wife, Lucy (Sabarin) Kovac, died in 1980. He was a car salesman for the former Kovich Chevrolet Co., Tamaqua, until he became ill. Born in Lansford, he was a son of the late Stephen and Anna (Harakal) Kovac. He was a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Coaldale. Kovac was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the European Theater. Surviving are two sons, Robert of Jim Thorpe and Gregory, at home; a brother, Martin Kovich of Nesquehoning; four sisters, Mrs. Susan Buban of Iselin, N.J.; Mrs. Rose Julo and Margaret, wife of Ignace Vandack, both of Coaldale, and Wilma, wife of Stephen Pisklak of New Brunswick, N.J., and three grandchildren. Services at 11 a.m. Monday in the August M. Gulla Funeral Home, 130 E. Ridge St., Coaldale, will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 in the church. Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Sunday.
