Re: KoZuch to Kozuchick - KOSITCH / KOZSICS
KOZIC / KOSIC (Servian) 1904: Hungary to Scranton, PA

Might we be related ? I can not determine the correct spelling of my grandfather’s name ... so I am replying to all enquiries with similar-sounding surnames.
--------------------------------
Grandfather, a 26 year-old meat-cutter, left Pecs (Hungary) in Nov. 1904 and emigrated through Ellis Island aboard S.S. Frankfurt from Bremen.

Ship manifest lists him as: GYORGY KOSZICS - indicating he was Hungarian, Servian. I hope to learn about his family.

I wish to learn where he was born on 6 May 1878 (Pecs, Hungary ? or Servia ?)
Original Serbian spelling may have been: KOZIC / KOSIC / KOCIC / KOSETIC

In America his name became GEORGE KOSITCH / KOSITCEITCH
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are unable to help me with this information, please suggest where can I find it.

Thank you   - -     http://www.Kositch.us   - -   NYEggNog@Verizon.net
==========================

Joseph and Mary Kozuch

I am trying to find where in Poland Joseph and Mary Kozuch originated from. Mary's maiden name was Plebanek. She and Joseph met and married in Illinois. I am unable to find them on the Ellis Island records. Joseph and Mary had two of their own children, Stephen and Wanda. Mary died and Joseph remarried a few years later to Mary (yes, he had a thing for that name apparantly..hehehe). Mary was also widowed with children...Stanley and Edward. Stephen died during WWII. Stanley died a few years ago. Wanda married Anthony Kaleta (whose parents are also from Poland). If you are related, or think you might be, I'd be delighted to hear from you. I'm trying to come up with a family history of my husband's family for the sake of our children. My inlaws don't know or won't tell much of their past.
