George B. Krall was born in Washington Township, March 30, 1837, is the eldest of the six children of Jesse and Maria (Brubaker) Krall, and is of German descent through his great grandfather. Subject’s father was born in 1810, was a farmer, millwright and merchant at Krallstown for many years. He now resides on his farm of 100 acres in Washington Township, and owns, beside several small tracts of land, the saw and grist mill, where our subject is engaged. At the age of fifteen, subject apprenticed himself for five years to learn the millwright’s trade with his father; then followed the trade for himself until his enlistment, August 8, 1862, in the One Hundred and Thirtieth Pennsylvania Volunteers, Company B. He was in the engagements at South Mountain, Antietam and Chancellorsville, and returned home at the end of ten months. He followed his trade until September. 1863, when he enlisted for three years, or the war, in Company C, Seventy-ninth Volunteers, and took part in the battle of Raleigh, N. C. He was honorable discharged July 12, 1865. Thereafter he engaged in his trade in Maryland until 1879. In 1859 he married Sarah J., daughter of Henry B. Smith, of York County, and to this union were born four children: Ellis C., Jessie F. (both deceased), Gertrude and Grace. In 1872, Mrs. Krall died, and in 1877 Mr. Krall married Della B., daughter of George Ford, and a native of Delaware. In 1879, Mr. K. moved from Maryland to Carlisle, Penn., then to Loudon, Franklin County, and in the spring of 1884 settled down in this township.

Taken from the book, “History of York County, Illustrated 1886” by John Gibson, Historical Editor

Hi Randall, We are a far distant relative. Our family was from the Janos Krall 1800 and Anna Krajnyak family. Children Joseph with wife Susanna Majeresik and their children Milka Krall with husband Andrew Lapsandsky of Ladysmith,Joseph had a son John born 1875 wife Catherinia Lapsandsky. This couple is my husbands grandparents they were born in Hensclova and died in Washington St. where we live. My husband Ed, is the son of their daughter Mary(Krall) Bye born 1916 died 1997. If you would like a decedancy chart I would be glad to send you one. If I could have an address because I'm am not too skilled on the E-mail sending of the charts. I'm not sure where we all fall in the tree but we have a cousin that has talked with Dianna's parents, and knows the connection. We saw Dianna a few years ago, appearing in Seattle, she was great. Thanks Sue

Jesse Krall and Rebecca Howe

I am researching this line among many others. In my family, there is proof that Jesse with Rebecca had a child out of wedlock; her name is Mattie Gerber Smith; now, according to the census reports, Jesse was married three times but not to Rebecca. ONe of the census has a Rebecca married to John Krall and this union had a little girl not my great grandmother. Another census following this one has John Krall married to someone else. On my great grandmother's death certificate, it stated that her parents were Jesse Krall and Rebecca Howe. What happened to Rebecca? I would love to hear from you about this family.

I would love to have a copy. Please email me. THanks

Sorry for the delay in my response. Can you tell me where the country of origin was? If it is listed as "Austria" and if the town is "Loka" on either the Census records or Ellis Island please let me know. There is a strong chance I may be able to assist you. I just need more information as to country of origin.

Thanks.
