I am a Kram descendent whose family came from Kalusz. My grandmother was Barbara Kram and she was born in Kalusz. Her parents were Ludwig Kram and Katarina Strömich. She immigrated to Canada in 1913. Ludwig's father's name was William, William's father was Philip, and Philip's father was Bernhard.

Dear Karol, thank you so much for the reply. I thought for many years that the Kram family might always remain a mystery....not any more. I am almost 100 per cent certain now, but, for me I need the proof. I know I have a document somewhere that says that Helena's first/middle name might be Irene, but can't find it. Helen and Joseph have a grand-daughter and a great-granddaughter named Irene. I'm starting to search again and let you know as soon as I find anything. This is so exciting to find more family!

Best wishes from Mary in CT

I know this post is several years old, but I recently came across the following news article that I thought may be of assistance to you in the event you are still searching for your birth family information.

COPIED FROM www.examiner.com

A new Illinois law will allow an estimated 250,000 Illinois-born adoptees to request copies of their original birth certificate from the state beginning in November, and a local adoption group is helping adoptees navigate the process.
“Starting on November 15th, the new law will allow adopted adults to apply for a non-certified copy of their original birth certificate that will help them learn more about their birth families,” said Melisha Mitchell, executive director of the Chicago-based White Oak Foundation. “We are helping people walk through the application process.
According to the head of the, adoptees born on or after January 1, 1946, may apply for their original birth certificates starting November 15, 2011.
A free seminar organized by the White Oak Foundation was held on October 6 in Chicago to provide adoptees with application assistance and on possible next steps once they’ve received non-certified copies of their original birth certificates.
Adoptees born before 1946 have had access to their original birth certificates since May of 2010.
The law’s sponsor, State Rep. Sara Feigenholtz (D-Chicago), an adoptee, appeared as seminar’s keynote speaker.
“On November 15, I will be able to mail my application and $15 check to the state’s office of Vital Records and get a copy of my original birth certificate within six months,” Feigenholtz told the group
assembled in an auditorium of Illinois Masonic Hospital located in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. “And on that birth certificate will be the name of the woman who gave birth to me 53 years ago. I can't wait to hold it in my hand,” Feigenholtz added.
The 2-hour symposium provided a “roadmap” to securing a non-certified copy of an original birth certificate under the new law as well as review the search and reunion options available to adoptees and
their surviving relatives through the White Oak Foundation and state agencies.

For additional information call 312-666-5721 or e-mail Mitchell at iltreesurgeon@aol.com or visit www.whiteoakfoundation.org.
My name is Karol Kram. My father was born in Kalusz, which is next town to Dolina. I am sure (but I have no prove) that all Krams from Dolina and Kalusz are descendants of Bernhard (Bernard) Kram. He was a German settler in Austrio-Hungarian Galicia, who came to Kalusz in 1784.
I’m Polish. I live in suburbs of Poland capital Warsaw, but almost every year I visit Ukraine. In true I have never been in Dolina, but I know quite good its neighborhood – especially wild and beautiful mountains (Dolina means in Polish ‘valley’).
Karol Kram

P.S. I recommend a DNA project lead by Barry Cram for families Cram, Cramm, Kram, and Kramm - http://www.cram.bravehost.com/
Hello, My name is Kenneth Louis Kram, my father is Louis Kram, his mother and father were Josephine and Anton Kram who eventually settled in Raymore Saskatchewan. Geneology information suggests the family comes from Dolina Austria, however, as I have been researching my family history, Dolina was in the Austral-Hungarian Empire previous to WWI, however time has changed the boundaries and Dolina is now in the Ukraine. My wife and I are planning a trip to Dolina in June 2009. If anyone out there has additional information regarding the Kram or Kramm family, please get in touch.

Ken

Am willing to share what I have though.
Thanks

Luther Ellen Wood

I am looking for Relatives. I found information from Lola May Kram concerning my Great-Grandparents Luther Ellen Wood from Indiana, who both died in Indpls. Great- Grandma Ellen in 1918 after the birth of her daughter Helen May, who died in 1955 in Calif. And my Great-Grandfather who I believe died before I was born in 1962, my Grandpa (Raymond John Wood 1911-1995) did not like to talk about him as the family was split up because he was a drunk. If you are related please e-mail me as I am trying to trace the Wood Ancestry. I live in SC, my sister in WV, brother John in NC, and Dad Gary Ray Wood in Fl. My Uncle, David A. Wood still lives in Indpls.,IN. Thank You!
