My great grandfather Nicholas Krebsbach immigrated from Weiler, Germany in 1868 to Peoria County Illinois with his father Peter Joseph Krebsbach and step-mother Barbara Schmidt. Nicholas married Margaret Jennings in Peoria in 1873 and in 1878 they moved to southwest Iowa settling in Carl township, Adams County, Iowa. I am aware that other Krebsbachs settled in Wisconsin, Minnesota and other cities in Iowa. I found a Krebsbach family in Nebraska in the 1880 census records.
