Emma Frances Krigbaum died in Yakima, WA 20 Apr 1941 and is buried in the Sunnyside, WA Cemetery, Lott 7, Blk. 15, Grave 1. I visited the cemetary in May, 2005 and there apparently is no marker. Her grave is at the edge of the cemetary where it becomes unclear where the graves end. I believe she was married four times - 1-Emelio Severino Soares (Emil Severine Sears), 2-Jessie Richard Battin, 3- Eberhart, 4-Soares again. (I saw one pedigree chart which shows her married to Harvey Shepard, but I believe he was probably married to her daughter Emily.) My connection is her sister, Dolly Krigbaum who is my great-grandmother. She was one of 10 children born to James Henry Krigbaum and Margaret Louise McClaren.

Source: SMITH FAMILY BIBLE information. Unknown where Bible is now some 30 years later. Was in the possession Elizabeth Ferretti Smith R.V. Rotterman of Rocky River, OH, descendant of JOSEPH DALLAS SMITH back in the 1970s, vonville ATmstar2 . net descendant of Ann M. Smith and Henry A. Butts did research then.

Seek more info: From whom (parent's / siblings names, dates, places, etc.) and where did SMITH and KRIGBAUM come??? Are they in America a long time or did they meet when got off the boat/s, marry somewhere in Maryland and then got to Knox, OH? Was SMITH originally SCHMIDT? Descendants married German speakers and some settled in Glenmont, Holmes, OH area.

Von Ville speaks German as second language / missionary in Germany, might be able to assist translation/research if there are some German records available. I was wondering if you have an Eliza Rose who married a Krickbaum in your family records. I have a copy of a will on John Rose in 1828. His daughter Eliza's married name is Krichbaum. Her sister Sarah is my GGGGgrandmother, Sarah was born 1778. That may help you with the time period.

While looking for parents of Marion L. and Blanche Hallowell Krigbaum of Perry County, OH, I came across the following obituaries on Microfilm at the Zanesville Library and thought the information contained within might be of interest to researchers.

"Necrological Record..Demetris Krigbaum aged 71 years died at his residence No. 32 Zane Street (City of Zanesville, Muskingum County, OH) at 4:30 oclock this morning. Death was due to the grip. The deceased had for a number of years been a resident of Zanesville and was for a long time weigh master of the Market House scales. He leaves a wife and seven children to mourn their loss. The children are Mrs. Edward Call, of the Dresden Road, Mrs. Eli Basehart, Harry, Albert, Louis, Stewart and Miss Connie Krigbaum, of this city. The funeral arrangements have not yet been completed."

Further investigation brought the following information: Wife's name was Mary Ann born Abt. 1834 and a daughter Mary F. born Abt. 1856. He is buried in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Zanesville, OH.

William Krigbaum, aged 83, until recently a resident of this city, (Zanesville, OH), died at the State Hospital in Columbus at 1 oclock Tuesday morning after a lingering illness. He was born in Cumberland, MD, but had been a resident of this county (Muskingum) since he was 17 years of age. For many years he was a farmer in the Philo (Harrison Township) neighborhood, where he was well known and highly respected. In recent years and until stricken he resided on Pierce Street, this city (Zanesville). Mr. Krigbaum was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church (in Zanesville) He is survived by one brother, S. K. Krigbaum."

I didn't think to write the source newspaper down for this one...Could be Courier, Zanesville Signal, or Times Recorder. The only other information I have to offer on William is that he was listed as a widow in 1910 living in Philo on the census.

Louise Sanders Krigbaum, 99, of La Mesa died April 10. She was born in Glenwood, Ala., and was an artist.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Krigbaum; son, Charles; brother, William Sanders; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Private family services were planned.

Interment: Mount Hope Cemetery, San Diego.

Arrangements: Humphrey Mortuary.

Harry had 2 children, a son named John Ira and a daughter Anne or Annie. I believe Anne married a man named Samuel Mastrilli and was believed to be in Broomall, PA. Found Roy's death certificate. Roy Theodore Krigbaum was born 3/29/1879 in Hannibal, MO to James Krigbaum and Anna Carson. Married Fannie White and he died in Greenville, IL 12/6/1936. Was his father the James F, born about 1854? If so, James' parents were John Krigbaum and Jane White. Any info anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Ted tkrigbaum@excite.com.

Roy Theodore Krigbaum(Kriegbaum) died in Greenville, Illinios, Bond County per the death certificate. He was married to Fannie White at the time and apparently had no children. Before that he was married to Comfort and they had one son Oscar and then he married my grandmother and had one son Theodore my father. He left Oklahoma in the late 1920's. I have been trying--unsuccessfully-- to tie him into all the other Krigbaums I have read about. Any help is greatly appreciated. tkrigbaum@excite.com.

My information comes from Johnson Co. Kansas Marriage Records (1857-1905) published in 1997 by the Johnson Co. Genealogical Society. It shows that the original record can be found in Volume A of the county marriage records. The date of the marriage is March 7, 1861. In James McClaren's will dated May 5, 1869, he mentions his daughter, Margaret L. Krigbaum, so I am fairly sure that it is my ancestor. You should try to contact Michelle DeFur, who also has James and Margaret as ancestors. They are not my direct ancestors. She indicated that some of their children were born in Illinois. There is a book at the FHL in Salt Lake City that tells about the background of our McClaren family. It is available on microfilm as well so you can order it at your local FHL. I am looking for information on all of the William L. Kribaum's and for anyone who has information on this line of Krigbaum's who are decendents of Conrad Weiser. I have a family bible, but as of now it is mislocated and has been for quite some years now. My bible's first entry is Conrad Weiser and it is called The Weiser Family. In the middle it loses track of the Weiser's and follows the Krigbaum line. Do you have any info., on my Krigbaum's.
