Any way I am a Kriz from Bohemia, Czech decent and think we have some mutual relatives and may be of some help. Let me know if you are still interested and I can e-mail you some information, copies of census and what not.
Thank you for your time.
Andrew J. Kriz

Franziska Krisch, b. 1850, to US 1853, m. John Konz

Looking for the family of Franciska Krisch, born in June 1850 in Austria or Germany (also listed Bohemia in Census, although the 1900 census says Austria for her and parents). She came to the US 1853. I know that she was married to John Konz and living in Black Earth, Dane Co., Wisconsin in 1870. I estimate that they had been married for at least 2 years as they had 2 children, Lina age 1 and John Jr. age 3 mos, and there is a listing of a 50th wedding anniverary in 1918.

John's family came to Dane Co., WI in 1861. He served in the Union Army during the Civil War, enlisting in an Illinois unit as a paid substitute. I do not know where John and Francis met and married.

They had 10 children: John Jr., Lena, Francis(female), Mary, Clara, Anna, Ida, Nora, Walter and Janie.

I am researching the family through their son, John Jr., and his grandaughter Margaret Konz, who married Henry Leduc in the Mankato area of Minnesota.
KRIZ/KRISH/KRISCH REUNION

We are trying to plan a reunion. I am posting on the Kriz/Krish/Krisch message boards. Those trying to plan the reunion are descendants of Joseph Krish and Julia Knaus (Krish). Joseph’s parents were Barbara and Ivan (Johan/John) Kriz. The name was changed from Kriz to Krish and/or Krisch on Ellis Island. Joseph and Julia’s last surviving son is in his 80’s and this would mean a lot to him. While we have pretty much accounted for most descendants Joseph and Julia we are looking for other descendants from Joseph Krish’s brothers and sisters and sisters in law. Below please find a list of all and if you are related please respond to krishfish@sc.rr.com. Again this is very important to a gentleman in his 80’s.
Joseph Krish’s parents and his brothers and sisters and wives are listed below...

PARENTS - BARBARA POJE AND IVAN KRIZ ( JOHAN/JOHN KRISCH)

CHILDREN - FRANK KRISH BORN IN 1888 MARRIED ANTONIA OZBOLT

ADOLPH KRISH BORN IN 1890 MARRIED ANTONIA ZURGA

MARY KRISH(MARIA KRISCH)BORN IN 1893 MARRIED
FRANK POJE WHO DIED IN 1919
SHE THEN MARRIED JOHN MIKLIC

SOPHIE KRISH BORN 1894 MARRIED JOHN MIHELIC

JOSEPH KRISH BORN 1895 MARRIED JULIA KNAUS

JOHN KRISCH BORN 1900 MARRIED SOPHIE POJE

LOUIS KRISCH BORN 1904 MARRIED MARY STAMPCHEK

Thank you.....Veronica Krish-Osborne

The orginal message writter, but it matches my family exactly. I have not been in contact with her via a reply, but posted data just to have it out there. Nebraska was the starting point for the family after coming to America. Some of the First born ended up in Minn. Some stayed in Nebraska and the Mitchell's last know time I saw her was in St. Joseph, Missouri. What info do you have from this Kriz information, that may connect to the family.

It sounds like you could have something that may help me. I started this looking for a Franta and Ana Kriz, who apllied for and have filed Homestead in Oklahoma. My father in law is George Kriz. They are buried along with the grandparents and severeal children now at Arlington Memrl Cem in Oklahoma.Their bodies were moved there from the Homestead after Draper Lake went in. I have run into some 22 Frank Kriz ( 2 more are also buried in same cemetery) and have learned at the Oklahoma Law Library for some reason there is a book on "The Five Franks" which i was told was about the Kriz family. I'd love to go see this, just haven't got there. If there is anything you have, please let me know. Thank You.

If you are related to Krizizke then you would also be related to Krzizike because basically they are the same name. There was a discrepancy between how it should be spelled which accounts for the two different spellings.

Reply to Joseph Kriz raised by uncle Fred Kriz near Benson, Minn. I am looking for relatives of Frank Kriz whose children were raised by his brother Fred Kriz. Some of the childrens names did include a Joe. I am doing the family history. Fred and Frank Kriz were children of Anton Sr. and Anna Zaharra Kriz that came to America and settled in Knox County, Nebraska, in a small area called Sparta, near Verdigre Nebraska and Center, Nebraska. There were other brother's and sisters by the name Anton Jr., Marie (Mary Mitchell), Anna, and Julia (my grandmother Alexander), Joseph and Rosa (Tyler / Hof). Please let me know if you are connected. I am looking for the MInn. connection I have pictures with Minn. on them but until recently did not have names of town and Benson was one that Ann Kriz signed on a table cloth and Joe and Ron Kriz came and signed it from St. Paul in 1983 to visit a relative Ruth Kriz Cernousek in Verdigre then.

There are some Krisha's in Northern Calif where I live but not many. I haven't found my Krisha line in the filmed records from Slovenia. I keep looking. I hope this is of some help and interest to you. John A. Krisha

My great grandmother Mary Kriz. She was born in Dec 1871 in Bohemia. I believe her parents were Mateji Kriz and Anna Beran. Mary immigrated to America in 1892 at age 21 and settled in Chicago. She later married Valcav Svec. Any imformation would be useful.

I believe these are different Marie Kriz's and I don't think there is a connection. I have recently found my g.grandmother Marie Kriz arrived in New York on the ship Werra in 1892. She was from the small village of Nevrazy near Pilsen.

Mike
