Hi, hope all is going well for you and the babies. I'm sorry for the delay in response I have been really busy. Do you remember Bob? He was Wes & Graces son. He was my father.The only one left from that group is Lois. I was born and raised down this end but as a kid we always went "up state" to visit. My name is Bob also. Stay in touch and let's figure out how to talk!!!
I think the brother who died when he was 16 was named Hilbert. My grandfather told me the story many times.

My grandmother was your Wes' sister Eva Petrusky. I have slowed down on my research but hearing from you, gets me interested again. I live in Warminster, close to Hatboro and Willow Grove. Please keep in touch. My mother Mary Petrusky Zeller died October 24, 2006 and I have been suffering her loss ever since. The only thing that keeps me going is the birth of twin grand-daughters to my older daughter Amy and her husband Jason. Now, my younger daughter is expecting a baby in December...so this keeps me busy. Take care and please keep in touch. Obit of Mrs. Kate R Kroh Grove, February 23, 1917

Mrs Kate R Grove, wife of Daivd Grove, Lewistown, died suddenly Thursday evening, 9:20 at her residence. The cause of her death was an unexpected attach of heart trouble. Although she was confined to her home the past six years with rheumatic alliments, she was able to be up and around even until the last day of her earthly life. She died before a doctor reched her bedside. She was born in Hanover, Penna. and at the time of her death was 81 years, 10 months, and 7 days. Her maden name was Katharine Kroh. She has resided in Lewistown the past 53 years. Sheis survived by her husband and one brother, John M Kroh of Hanover.
Private funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, 3 o'clock, at her late residence E Market Street, Lewistown. The body will be taken Monday morning on the train leaving Lewistown Junction at 8:05 o'clock to Hanover where interment will be made.

Obit was found in a very tattered bible with no name of ownership in the bible, at a yard sale in Orbisonia, Penna.

I have quite a bit of info on the Kroh family. Andrew Shaffer (1802-1891) and Christena Esterly (1801-1872)were my great great great grandparents.

My great great grandparents were Beneval/Benewell Kroh (1822-1900) and Caroline (Catherine) Shaffer (1823-1897)

My Great grandparents were John Kroh (1854-?) and Margarent Mason (1858-?)

My grandparents were Grover Sarvey (1890-1956) and Melvie Kroh (1890-1958).

I don't have a Beula Kroh in my database but the name is familiar to me. I may have come across it but unable to figure out how she fit in to the family.

I'd be glad to share what I have.

I don't know if there is any relation between the Samuel A. Kroh you are searching and Samuel H. Kroh. Samuel H., I believe, was my father's uncle. Samuel's father (my father's grandfather) was Andrew Kroh, who lived in Hegins, Pennsylvania. Samuel H. Kroh served in the Army during the first world war and was to have been sent to France. He had a sister, named Martha (my grandmother) who married Brook Horn, from Donaldson, Pa. on June 26, 1805. Do you have any background on Samuel A. Kroh?

I have no information on your branch of the family, but I just wanted to mention that there is also a Laura Kroh in my line of the family. I believe her father was Andrew Krow. Her sister, Martha, was my grandmother. There were at least two other sisters - Verna and Bertha. There may have been a brother Samuel. My grandmother had roots in Hegins, Pa. and is buried at the Lutheran Church there. As I go through my research I will let you know if I come across any information on Mary Kroh.

She was born April 29, 1886, in Rural Valley, daughter of Lewis F. Kroh and Margret Screncengost Kroh. She was member of the First Methodist Church of Greensburg and the Greensburg Business and Professional Women's Club, and a retired employee of Troutman's Department Store.

Benewell's has many descendants from the Port Barnett and Emerickville area near Brookville,Jefferson County Pa.

My paternal grandmother was Melvie Kroh. Her grandparents were Beneval Kroh and Catherine Shaffer.
My paternal grandfather was Grover Sarvey. His sister, Laura Sarvey, married Clarence Shaffer. I'm interested in the Shaffer line and how the two might be interconnected.

The Clayton Kroh that I am looking for. His mother's name was Luella Ruth Hannold. His dad's name was Charles Kroh. Luella's daughter(Clayton's sister) married a Nulph who is a decendant of Laurentius Nolf.

My ancestors and my coworker, Linda Nulph's, ancetors are in your database. we're all descendants of Laurentius Nolf who emigrated around 1737.

In my case I'm also related to the Kroh line that includes John, Beneval, Jacob III, Jacob II, Jacob I, Johannes Kroh.

I didn't find a Clayton Kroh in my Kroh Database but I did find a Lawrence Clayton Nulph. I'd bet money your Clayton Kroh is somewhere in Lawrence Nulph's lineage.

I happened to notice that your last name is Nulph and that you are looking for information on the Kroh family. My paternal grandmother was Melvie Kroh. My maternal grandfather was Walter Nolph. I have a fellow employee, here in California, who's maiden name is Linda Nulph. We've establihed that Linda and I are 5th cousins. All are from the Brookville area in Jefferson County with many ties to Clarion County as well. My ggrandparents Beneval Kroh and Caroline Shaffer were married in the home of Albert Nulph circa 1841.

I am looking for family and or ancestors of Catherine Kroh that married George Herzel/Hartzell. Catherine was born Sept. 30, 1792 in Berks, Pa. I find this same Catherine listed in the Zelienople, Pa. records as Kroh and Koch and I would like to know which is the correct spelling. They were Lutheran and had their children in Zelienople at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. I come from their daughter Hannah born 1806/07.

I have quite a bit of information on the Kroh family. My great grandparents were John Kroh(1854-1925) and Margret Mason (1858 - ?). They lived in Jefferson County, Pa. near Brookville. There were six children. My grandmother was Melvie Edna Kroh and was the youngest. I have info on five generations preceding John Kroh.

I'm not familiar with Shamokin, although I see there is one in Pa. east of Brookville

Thanks for your reply! I'm not sure if the Kroh and Shaffer lines connect anywhere. My Shaffer's were from Columbia and Luzerne Counties in PA. The Kroh's aren't related, but they were former residents of the house I live in. They lived here in the 1940s and before.

I know this is an old post but it never hurts..........we have "spoken before about Hawks"..lol. But, here I am again. My G-G-G-G-grandfather, William, was the brother of your main JACOB KROH in Northumberland. There are lots of people in the same line as yours searching so I am sure you have conquered a lot of this since your post in 2003.

Jacob's wife is Catharine Haupt which you most likely know. If you have found anything relating to the parents and grandparents, please contact me...or if I can be of service to you!

It was in the Surname Book where I saw the Margaret Mason / John Kroh entry ( Not Shamokin Cem.). Honestly, this family has me a little crazy trying to keep up with all the similar names.
I have a John Kroh (1829 - 1904). Do you happen to have any connection to or info on this family? Would you be willing to Share your Kroh info, please? My John Kroh was from E. Cameron but born in an area known as Fisher's Ferry. His father was William.

My grandmother was Eva Kroh Petrusky from Big Mine Run, Ashland PA. She was married to Joseph Petrusky and they had 5 children who are all still living. We are trying to create a family tree and need as much information as we can get. Eva and Joe had Jean, Joseph,Jr., Mary (my mother), Catherine, and William. Eva passed away January 2, 1987 and Joseph passed away December 23, 1989. Eva's parents were William and Ida Kroh. Their children were Eva (my grandmother), Evelyn (Kaylor), Dorothy, Lillian (Buhl), Gertrude, Roy, Bill, Wes, Albert, and Hilbert (killed in the mines at 16 years old). I have traced back to Johan Georg Wilhelm KROH born 1813 in Wemlighausen, Germany. I'm not sure of his wife's name as records show her as being Mrs J. G. W. KROH. I believe 2 of their children to be Georg Wilhelm KROH born 1850 in Wissenbach, Germany and Georg Henrich KROH born 16/6/1855 in Germany. Georg Henrich married Auguste Wilhelmina MARKUSCHEFSKI who was born 11/9/1862 in Germany and died 3/4/1909. They married on 11/6/1883. Their children were Christian KROH born 1884 in QLD, Australia and died 1886; Georg Henrich KROH born 20/7/1886 in QLD, Australia and died 1972; George KROH born 1890 in QLD Australia and died 1959; Wilhelm KROH born 1894 in QLD Australia and died 1964; and Annie KROH born 30/12/1897 in Toowoomba, QLD, Australia and died 26/6/1977 in QLD Australia.
