I have burial information for Peter Krohn, if you're interested. He's buried in a small cemetery in Tenstrike, close to my great grandfather, Charles Christian Almendinger (1844-1920). The cemetery was established Sept 30, 1905 on 2 acres of land. There is a reference to the purchase of 1 acre of land for a village cemetery on Apr 18, 1901 in the Tenstrike newspaper. It was owned and maintained by the local lodge of the International Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.) It was later deeded to the City of Tenstrike sometime in the 1960s.
I was just there last weekend, and it was quite an adventure. The cemetery is completely overgrown by large trees and dense foliage, so it doesn't look like a cemetery at all. Instead, it looks like a bunch of gravestones randomly tossed about in the middle of a forest. However, the access to the cemetery is over private property, one of which is owned by the Land O'Lakes Wood Preserving Co. in Tenstrike. One of the company's owners, Mike Fellows, was kind enough to drive us back to the cemetery and show us around a bit.
I took pictures of many grave stones, and have a hand-drawn map/legend that was given to me by my uncle and aunt who currently live in Tenstrike. The description on the map/legend says that Peter Krohn's grave is marked by a flat granite stone that is flush with the ground's surface. It says "Peter Krohn 1842-1921."
I'm interested in learning more about the people who are buried in this cemetery. Can you send me some information about Peter Krohn and his family?
FYI, my dad and I are also interested in restoring this cemetery. I'm currently inquiring about state aid and/or grant money from the Minnesota Historical Society. Let me know if you'd like to help!
