Have you found them in the 1900 census? If so, it should tell you the year they arrived in the US. From there you can check the Germans to America books and/or CD and/or the Ellis Island website (www.ellisislandrecords.org) if they came after 1890 or the National Archives (www.nara.gov). Most immigrants from Poland and other Austrian/Czech countries are usually found in Germans to America. Anyone that came from "Prussia" can usually be found there as well.

Let me know if I can help. I have the Germans to America CD for the years 1850-1874.

Thank you so much for the information. I believe my searches from the census are from the latest 2 that are out. I don't believe I found them in the 1900 census. I will have to look again.

What is your email address, so that we can keep in touch. I would appreciate any help you could give me.

I, unfortunately, have only been able to get to the early 1900's in the Buffalo area where my great grandparents came from Poland. The census shows them coming from Poland, but now I am at a dead end trying to connect how they came from Poland and from where in Poland they came.

Are you in the Buffalo area?

I have received my grandparents marriage certificate and here is how my family goes. My father's name is Richard Krolczyk, he had 1 brother and I believe 4 sisters (Jeanne, Irene, Mary Ann, Theresa) as well has 1 half sister and several step brothers and sisters.

His parents names were Stephen Krolczyk (I believe his birth date was June 30, 1905) and Mary Mazurek (her birth date on the marriage certificate says 18-Jan 29/24, which I have no idea what that means). They were divorced somewhere in the 40's and married in 1924. Stephen's parents names were Michael Krolczyk (Poland) and Stella Jaslinski (Poland). Michael signed the marriage certificate as well as someone else which does not match his wife's name. the first part is cut off, but the name is ___rislawa Krolczyk.

I know my grandfather had a brother Stanley, a sister Irene and I think there may have been more siblings.

On my grandmothers side, her parents name were Peter Mazurek and Josephine Wazinska both from Germany.

This is all of the information which I have. Let me know if any of this sounds familiar.

I know that my father was born in the Buffalo area, where my grandmother stayed until she passed away in the 80's. My grandfather moved to Ohio from there then back to New York and then to PA. He also passed away in the 80's.

Let me know if this does sound familiar to you. I am very interested in pursuing more information to fill in the gaps. Thanks.

I can tell you I was born and raised in Erie, PA, however, my dad and his brothers and sisters are from Buffalo. I know that there are Krolczyk's still in Buffalo and are related to me, but distantly...please email me if you would like to discuss further.

I am trying to trace the history of a paternal great-uncle who was Adam Krolczyk and was a Lutheran missionary to China from 1860-72. I believe the town he came from was in East Prussia called Neidenburg (Neidenau?) I think there are many variations of the last name which could include Krolzek, Krolzig, Krolczik, Krolzeck and Krolzyk.

My greatgrandfather was Michael Krolczyk. He is in the 1920 Buffalo census married to Stanislawa. I believe it says that he was 39 and she was 37. There children were Stefan, Stanley, John & Irene.

So my greatgrandfather would have been about 19 during the 1900 census and my greatgrandfather would have been about 17.

Krolczyk in MD

Anyone know these people, born in Baltimore, MD:
Francis Krolczyk, b. 19 Jan 1882, and Cecilia Krolczyk, b. 1 Nov 1884, to parents Valentine Krolczyk and Catherine n. Jasinska.
It seems that nearly all Baltimore Poles had relations in Buffalo.
