Is this the Boris Kroll(fabric designer and manufacturer) showroom? If so, do an internet search for Eric Kroll photographer living in California. I believe he is one of Boris Kroll's children.

Not sure when then came. Achilles is listed on the 1870 and 1880 cenus. Achilles and his wife Zellie are buried at St. Roch cemetary. Achilles was a cooper. I know that they came from the boarder of Germany and France. I have a cousin doing research also, her grandmother and mine were sisters. If I find more I will let you know.

We ran an inquery through Ancesty.com on our family tree and those names didn't show up. That doesn't mean we are not related. We have a lot of work left to do. When did your ancestors come to America? That information can tell a lot. My ancestor Francois Kroll arrived sometime around 1835 or 40. Thank you so very much for responding. If I run across any connection I will let you know.

Gottlieb Kroll (Philadelphia, PA)

Hello.
I am trying to find some information on my great grandfather Gottlieb Kroll.
He was a carriage builder in Philadelphia, PA. According to a city directory his business address in 1890 was 1310-12-14 Wallace Street and his home address was 1526 North Street. He built Abraham Lincoln's funeral hearse, received the Franklin Institutes' Longstreth Award in 1896 (subject: Engineering; topic: Convertible Carriage), Authored Revelations in Carriage Building (Publisher: Philadelphia : Ware Bros., [1897]), and was awarded a US dated 7 May 1895 for an innovation regarding convertible carriages.
Gottlieb had 5 children .. Marguerite, Mable, Nellie, Jen, Lilian and my grandfather Frederick Kroll (b. Jan 1912; d. Jan 1986).
The family has passed down the story that Gottlieb was related to Jospeh Kroll, owner of the Kroll Opera House in Berlin, Germany. I have acquired information regarding Joseph and his family on the chance that the story is accurate, thus, if anyone is looking for information I would be happy to pass along what I have learned.
If anyone has knowledge of Gottlieb and/or his family I'd be grateful to hear what you have learned.

Lisa
Robert Kroll in Chicago

I am looking for a Robert Kroll, who lived in Chicago in the 1950's. In 1955 he was married to Joan, surname unknown, for about 2 years. He was at least 18 years old at the time, which would put his birth year before 1937.

I looked in the 1930 census, but there were several boys named Robert in Chicago at the time. I suspect that the Robert I am looking for was born after 1930.

Any help would be appreciated.

Bill Roden

I know little about Solomon Kroll. He was a farmer, growing wheat and sugar beets. His land was leased and he had gentiles working for him. He left Russia after his farm burned. After immigration, they lived in Ithica, then Rochester NY.

I do not know Solomon's wife's name or if she came to the US. His children were Moishe, Chava, Sarah, Malka, Rosa and Shmuel. All the children were born in Russia.

Moishe married an American girl. They had two children, Daniel and Jeanette. His marriage ended in divorce and he moved to Detroit.
Chava married in Russia--arranged marriage, husband's name was Gold. Their children were Meyer, Reuben, Mary, and ?. Chava also settled in Detroit.
Sarah married ? Weinberg, their children were Lenora and a son. This was also an arranged marriage and he later deserted her. She remained in Rochester.
Malka married in Rochester. Her husband was Frank Felix, from Roumania. Children Eva, Rose, Bella, Samuel. They settled in Detroit.
Smuel (Samuel) married ?? Belovich in Detroit. Their children were Solomon, Israel, Jeanette, and Edward. Does any of this relate to your research?

Hi, we are looking for information on the Kroll, Schaefer, and Zanto families from central Wisconsin. My g-g grandfather was Johann (John) Daniel Kroll b. 1844, who died in Portage Co. Wisconsin 1925 and was married to Wilhelmine Schaefer who was apparently also from Kolmar, Posen, Prussia and they immigrated in 1870. From some information I have, I believe Johann (John) was the son of Johann Kroll and Anna Loise Zanto. I have no information on Wilhelmine and would appreciate any information you can share as we are trying to learn more about the family.

Louis came over to N.Y. about 1890 and married Fanny (Steinberg??) Kroll. They had 3 children in N.Y. : Nathan (my grandfather in 1896), Samuel(about 1900), and Ethel(about 1909). Nathan and Samuel founded the Kroll Baby Carriage Company in Chicago, IL.

I'm also trying to get more information on my Grandfather's company(he owned it with his brother Samuel Kroll) but it is not easy. I too have an original drawing of a Kroll Kab hub cap, a catalog from 1934, and several of their baby carriage patents...but no records of employees. I know their original factory had a fire so they moved to another location in Chicago (one was at 1801 South Michigan Ave. and one was on Hastings Street.) They also had three showrooms in the city. I am not even sure when the factory closed, but I think it was when my father was in college or law school, so it was very close to the dates you are looking into...late 1950's. If I ever come across any information I will let you know. I am still interested in a copy of the mechanical drawing you have. I have attached 2 pictures, one of the cover of the catalog showing the factory and one of the hub cap drawing. Thanks, Susan

I have an ancestor named Paulina (Kroll) Kugler. I know she had some siblings, but I don't know their names. I believe one of her daughters also married a Schaefer. I believe it was Emma Ida Kugler, but not positive off the top of my head. The Kugler family was from Prussia and settled in Ontonogon Co, Michigan, so very feasible that Paulina's family was nearby in central Wisconsin, though I have also heard Oregon.

Stefan Kroll Freeland Pa

Hello, I am looking for information on Stefan and Katarina Kroll who lived in Freeland Pa. His second wife was Mary. They are all buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Freeland. I believe they were foster parents to my dad's cousins. I have seen their surname spelled as Krull or Prull. Thank you, Tish
