I know so little of my grandfather's background so it is possible we have ancestors in common.

I am going to do some in-depth research this weekend so I may have an answer.

Is this the Boris Kroll(fabric designer and manufacturer) showroom? If so, do an internet search for Eric Kroll photographer living in California. I believe he is one of Boris Kroll's children.

I am pretty certain that my ancestors came from the same region of France/Germany. Thanks for the reply. I'll let you know if I can find a connection.

Not sure when then came. Achilles is listed on the 1870 and 1880 cenus. Achilles and his wife Zellie are buried at St. Roch cemetary. Achilles was a cooper. I know that they came from the boarder of Germany and France. I have a cousin doing research also, her grandmother and mine were sisters. If I find more I will let you know.

We ran an inquery through Ancesty.com on our family tree and those names didn't show up. That doesn't mean we are not related. We have a lot of work left to do. When did your ancestors come to America? That information can tell a lot. My ancestor Francois Kroll arrived sometime around 1835 or 40. Thank you so very much for responding. Don't know that you will get this becasue it has been a long time since you inquired. My Grandmother was a Kroll from New Orleans. Her father was Achille Kroll. My grandmother was Margaret Kroll.

Hello Connie, my name is Rhonda and my sister and I are looking for August Wilmina also, August is buried in an old cemetary, our dad called it clayton because those were the first stones you saw. August was born 1/10/1838 and died 9/26/1884. MARY KUKLA DID MARRY A FRANK TACIEKIEWICZ AND THEY HAD 3 CHILDREN, STANLEY, WALTER (MY GRANDFATHER) AND MARY. I DONT HAVE VERY MUCH INFO ABOUT THEM EXCEPT THAT FRANK CAME OVER FROM POLAND ABOUT 1903 AND MARY CAME OVER FROM POLAND ABOUT 1908. I DID FIND A RECORD OF FRANKS REGISTRATION CARD FOR WORLD WAR 1 AND HIS NATURALIZATION RECORD AND A 1930'S CENSUS. OTHER THEN THAT I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING ELSE. WALTER IS MY GRANDFATHER AND HE MARRIED ANGELA PACER AND THEY HAD 7 CHILDREN, 6 ARE STILL LIVING AND 1 DIED WITHIN A YEAR OF HIS BIRTH. I ALSO KNOW THAT SHE DIED BETWEEN 1958 AND 1965. Oops I made a mistake Gottlieb is my great great grandfather. I also mistated "Gottlieb had 5 children ...." I meant to say that he had one son that I am aware of thus far, Christian Kroll. And Christian Kroll, my great grandfather had 5 children ... Marguerite, Mabel Nellie, Jen, Lillian and Frederick, my grandfather.

Hello.
I am trying to find some information on my great grandfather Gottlieb Kroll.
He was a carriage builder in Philadelphia, PA. According to a city directory his business address in 1890 was 1310-12-14 Wallace Street and his home address was 1526 North Street. He built Abraham Lincoln's funeral hearse, received the Franklin Institutes' Longstreth Award in 1896 (subject: Engineering; topic: Convertible Carriage), Authored Revelations in Carriage Building (Publisher: Philadelphia : Ware Bros., [1897]), and was awarded a US dated 7 May 1895 for an innovation regarding convertible carriages.
Gottlieb had 5 children .. Marguerite, Mable, Nellie, Jen, Lilian and my grandfather Frederick Kroll (b. Jan 1912; d. Jan 1986).
The family has passed down the story that Gottlieb was related to Jospeh Kroll, owner of the Kroll Opera House in Berlin, Germany. I have acquired information regarding Joseph and his family on the chance that the story is accurate, thus, if anyone is looking for information I would be happy to pass along what I have learned.
If anyone has knowledge of Gottlieb and/or his family I'd be grateful to hear what you have learned.

Robert Kroll in Chicago

I am looking for a Robert Kroll, who lived in Chicago in the 1950's. In 1955 he was married to Joan, surname unknown, for about 2 years. He was at least 18 years old at the time, which would put his birth year before 1937.

I looked in the 1930 census, but there were several boys named Robert in Chicago at the time. I suspect that the Robert I am looking for was born after 1930.

Any help would be appreciated.

My greatgrandfather was Christian Kroll, born in Berlin..I don't have the exact dob but I'll get it from my aunt. He migrated to Lima, Peru and married Teresa Muller, the daughter of a german diplomat in Peru. They had 4 children born in Peru:Christian, Carmela, Alfredo (my grandfather) and Teresa. I wonder if they were related.

Dolores is my cousin, her father Ernie was my uncle. I am the only child of Ernie's sister Viola. I would love to hear from you all. I am living in Iowa and get to the Appleton area to do research a couple times a year. I might be able to help find Gerald.

Mary Kroll Mattern, 86, of Richards, passed away Monday, August , 2008 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, Aug. 14 at 10 am at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Anderson with REv. Ed. Kucera officiating. Rites of committal will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 pm at the church with a Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Mary was born Friday, Sept, 9, 1921 in Richards to Stella (Baranowski) and John J. Kroll. She was an elementary school teacher for many years with Houston ISD. She was a life member of the Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Altar Society at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and the Grimes County Farm Bureau.

Mary is survived by her husband, Albert Mattern; sons and daughters-in-law Mauris and Ginia Mattern of Beach City, Don and Helen Mattern of Sugar Land, Jim Mattern of Houston and Russell and Debbie Mattern of Houston; sisters and brothers-in-law Betty Wrobleski of Anderson and Loukattie and Eugene Burzynski of Richards; and brother and sister-in-law Pete and Margaret Kroll of Harlingen; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are John Mattern of Houston, Jerry Mattern of Houston, Michael Wrobleski of Anderson, Gerard Burzynski of Katy, Leo Burzynski of Richards, and Kenny Mattern of Houston.

JEWELL J. KROLL, 77, of Houston, passed away May 2, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Kroll. Survived by son & daughter-in-law, Leonard & Linda Gardiner: daughters & sons-in-law Janice & Paul Rushing, Kathy & James Chimel, Gloria & Gary Miller, Rebecca & Lester Williams, Mary & Kenny Bolin, DeAnna & Jack Gregory, Tina & Daryl Jones: 26 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild: sisters, Hattie May Avery, Wanda Howell, Faye Laird and Shirley McCall: brother, Buddy Swearingen. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Klein Funeral Chapel, Tomball with Rev. Mark Klein officiating. Interment will follow at Klein Memorial Park-Hwy 249. Pallbearers will be Mike Gregory, Jerry Holliday, Larry Holliday, Lenny "Len" Gardiner, Dubby L. Kroll and Dillon Jones.
