KROMER- Sigmaringen, Baden-Wurttemburg in 1925

I am seeking info on Eugene Kromer (abt 1845-1930) who married Emma Strobele (1846-1925). The couple was living in Sigmaringen when Emma died in 1925.

Eugen and Emma had 3 children that I know of:

-Eugen Johann Kromer (1870- )
-Emma Anna Kromer (1874-1944)
-Marie Emma Kromer (1975-1950)

I would be very interested in having readable copies of the information that you have. I descend from the same line.
Your grgrgrandmother's name was Anna Madeline and she was the youngest sister of my grandfather Walter George Kromer. I have also done some searching on the Frantz line as well, for that reason.
You do not say where you live, but I would like to know if you would be interested in some photo's of the graves of Jacob and Anna? Or a copy of their marriage license? Could we make an exchange?

I read your response to Jeanette in 2006. My grandmother was Mary Barcic. Her father was John Barcic and her mother was A. Reiss. She had brothers named Matthew and John. Mary's father remarried and had two more children, Joseph and Katharine. Katharine (Katarina?) married someone named Heim. He died in WWII. She had three children: Andrew, Frank, and Tony. Do you think they are in your tree?

If so, any information other than what I already have (above) would be appreciated.

John Kromer Immigration

Does anyone know where I can easily find 1866 Immigration Records? I don't have a membership to Ancestry.com and have been trying to locate a John Kromer that immigrated to the U. S. from Germany in 1866. His wife was Wilhemina (Minnie) Klause. They had 3 sons that I know of -- Walter, Otto and George. They settled in the area of Round Mountain, Texas. The family has always been curious as to where John Kromer first came to in this country, but have yet been able to identify the port that welcomed him.

I have a close match for you in Sigmaringen, Hohenzollern.

My relative, Emma Strobele, married a Eugen Kromer. Eugen's father's name was David.

Emma and Eugen had 3 children: Eugen Johann, Emma Anna, and Marie Emma. They were born from 1970-1875.

from my experience, this does not mean all children were included on the record I have and some of the children could have died young.

Can you please tell me if the children you mentioned had children and their names and DOB's?

looking for John or Henry Cromers

My son and I are trying to trace descendants back from Denis Cromer.We have found Henry Cromers , Denis's father and apparently his Father was John. Henry was born 1832? in Netherlands and married in Australia? Apparently he came to Australia with a brother who settled in South Austalia but we haven't found him yet? Any help at all would be gratefully recieved.

I noticed your interest in the name Barcic. I went to Croatia last month and after meeting with a genealogist in Karlovac found the name of Jela and Katerina Barcic in my tree. I was wrong Lottie Kromer is Charles Kromer's sister, Christ was their father. My aunt didn't know much info but has a friend who is related to her husband Joe Pounds.

Good thing I mentioned that fact. My mom said she was the sister of Christ Kromer. I don't have any more information myself but I'll call and talk to my aunts this week and see if I can find anything out from them.

Hi. Sorry for the late response. I haven't been on for a while.
I am not aware that any of my Kromer relatives moved to Alabama. If he was a decendent of Christian, who was the son of Jacob, both were born in Alsace Lorraine, came to this country through Baltimore, then moved onto work in Connellsville, Fayette Co., PA, then this is my family too. I just am not aware of it. Each Jacob had a Jacob, then the other brothers would name a Jacob after their brothers, see what I mean? I will give a good hard look through my obituaries again. You do not say where yours was born, If it was PA then we may have a connection. Just write directly to this address. Thanks. BS

our family moved into oklahoma in the mid 1800's. we are writtern about in the Oklahoma Chronicles 1962 editions. we know alot about our history except for this headstone. it seems to be left out. oddest thing is that my sister born in 1953 has the same name. the elders in the family that would know about it are all dead. my parents siblings (80 yrs+ old) do not know about it. thanks for your reply and if you wish you may contact me directly. eckromer@cox.net

Sorry. I don't know as yet. Your name, however, interests me more. I have a brother named Edward Kromer. He is my next to the youngest brother, out of six. We are all from PA. He was named for a relative. I have an older relative who has been at this much longer than myself. I will ask him. It was a pleasure to talk to another Kromer. Hello. I don't think that is my branch. Mine all pretty much settled in PA and stayed here. Around 1870's. They must have come after another family wrote back and told them about the USA. I know nothing about the old country other than it is Alsace lorraine. Some say Germany, some say France. You know the borders. Possibly yours were related and mine followed yours here, but as of right now, I don't see a connection because they didn't settle in the same area of the country. We have a family reunion every year at a park near Pittsburgh. Does your tree have a Christian, Christine, Madeliene, Nickolas, Jacob, Lotte, Elizabeth or Julia? Mine has all those names and they are repeated many times.
If I can help in any other way, please don't hesitate to ask.

There are lots of Kromer's from Shelby County Alabama. We have moved to Chilton County Alabama. I have heard they have Kromer family reunions every year, maybe in Colorado. I am not sure but if you have any info, please let me know.

I found Mabel listed as working in Atlas Dining Room as a dining room servant with 4 other woman. Evidently they lived and worked there. My g-grandmother Hannah nee Kromer Conrad is buried in Cedar County, Iowa. She was born October 3, 1854. I do not know where. Her obit lists her parents as William Kromer and Lena nee Brandt Kromer. A number of her relatives moved to Butler and Bremer counties in Iowa. I know very little about this branch of the family. If anybody can fill in some blanks please contact me.

I am the child of Raymond C. Kromer, born in Jefferson Co., PA, who was the child of Walter George Kromer, born in Fayette Co., PA, who was the child of Christian Kromer, who was born in Alsace Lorraine, France, who was the child of Jacob Kromer, same country. That is as far back as I have. I have been researching my own line and that of some of the relatives for a year or more. Not that I have so much to share, because I promised someone that I wouldn't spread this stuff all over creation, but I can validate my own thread and am looking to go back further, if I can.
