One of my Kröner relatives in Germany, who is responsible for our family archives, provided me with the following list of Kröner variants;
Kröner
Gröner
Grüner
Krener
Kriner
Kroner
Krönner
Kröhner
I would also add "Kroener", which was the spelling my ancestors used when they anglicized their name. I am sure that there are probably other variants which were inadvertently introduced by census takers and clerks in this country.
