I have a great grandmother who I'm trying to find out about. Louisa (or Lusca) Krupp. Her and her sister Margaret came to the US around 1864. Have never been able to find out if they came with anyone else in their family. Louisa (changed her name to Elizabeth) was born 14 Feb 1869. She went to Nebraska and her sister went to Texas. I have been told by the great grandson of Margaret that they came from Essen. Neither of us have been able to make a connection to Essen.

I found this book at a goodwill store. It is a book by William Manchester, and is also titled The Krupp Dynasty: A Chronology. Has some pictures of people and places,

I thought it was one of my names but was mistaken. I would be happy to do look ups for anyone.

A biography of Joseph L.Krupp lists wife Sophia Smith, children Elizah, John, Mary and Louisa. To view - Google
Harris Township Indiana Krupp. Bio by "History of St. Joseph County, Indiana".

The child John is of interest to me. I suspect that John is the John H. I'm looking for and the brother to Louisa. John H. Krupp lived in Otisco Twp., Ionia County, MI. There are many Krupp's in the Ionia area and tied to Krupp's in Seneca Co., OH.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I don't know if they are related. My Krupp is Mary Veronica Krupp Lane, born in Michigan in 1869 to parents Daniel and Catherine Krupp. Daniel was born in Bavaria (Germany) and Catherine was born in Ohio. I believe Mary had two sisters, Catherine and Fronak. Does any of that sound familiar?

I would like to know where Henrietta Krupp connects into the Krupp family. I do not have much information on her, unfortunatley.

My great-grandfather, Ernest Radecke (DOB 08/03/1896), was born to Ferdinant Radecke and Henrietta (nee Krupp) in Berlin. My great-grandfather moved to Minnesota at the age of 15. I would really love any information as to how we relate to everyone. There has always been speculation that Bertha Krupp was perhaps my great-grandfather's aunt through his mother. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks.

I am searching for a connection between the Krupps and my great grandfather Charles Frederick Anderson, b. 10/13/1854 (Sweden?) It is said his father was Andrew or Andre Krupp. Charles changed his name to Anderson when he came to North America. Any info you can find on Andre/Andrew Krupp would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Crystal

There have been Krupps in Louisville, KY since around 1850. I'm trying to research this now; they seem to originate from Lansfeld (or Landsfeld) in Rhein-Pfalz, which is not far from Essen. Anyone know where Lansfeld is/was?

Hi Beverly!
It bothered many of German blood during and after the war to admit their heritage. To share a name with the same people that supplied arms to the war would have been VERY embarrassing considering the conservative attitudes of those times.
I'd be interested in information you might have on the Krupps of Illinois?

Sounds like you have as much information as I do, although I suppose it would be handy to actually be in Michigan and able to consult the records. The only names I have in the Krupp family are Joseph (or Josef), his wife Sophia, and their daughter (my direct ancestor), Louisa Marie, who married Harvey Quimby in Edwardsburg, Cass County, MI in 1868.

Joseph was apparently born in Germany in 1820 -- no idea when he came to Michigan. I have a lot of work yet to do on this line.

Ralph E. Krupp

I am searching for a Ralph E. Crupe (Krupp) born in Washington County PA. in Jan. 1896 to the parents of John Wesley Crupe (Krupp) and Hanna Etta Gunn. The parents moved from PA to Wellsburg, WV after 1910 and before 1920 census. Ralph left Wellsburg and never was heard from again. This was before the 1920 census. It has been said that he lived in OH but no one had any real proof. Going over the S.S.records I found a Ralph Krupp living in Kino or Tucson AZ and the county for both of them is Pima. Although this man spelled his name Krupp (which is the german spelling) the family spelled it Crupe. Also it give OH as the state or teritory here his number was issued. Is it possible that Ralph E. Crupe moved to OH. and changed back the spelling of his last name to the german spelling and then later on in years moved to Arizona? Could this be the same person and or does anyone have any information that they will share on this Ralph Krupp. I would appreciate anyone lettin me know what then have on the Krupp (Crupe) family. Thank You..

Ok, here's what I know.

My Great Grandmother Elizabeth Krupp. Born in Germany Feb. 14, 1869. I think that she came to the U.S. in 1874. She married Franklin Boyer Jan. 1, 1889, in Hooper, Nebraska. Some time before 1910 Franklin Boyer died. The family split up and Elizabeth ends up in Ohio in 1920. Mid-1920s she moved to Chicago. Lived there the rest of her life until she passed away in 1958.

Children Harry, Herbert, Carrie, Hattie, Lillian and Dora. John was also a child, but he passed away before he was 6 months old.

On her marriage certificate it shows her name as Louisa Keropp. 1900 census shows her name as Lousca.

Her death certificate and other information shows her as Elizabeth Krupp. For all of her children on their death certificates it shows their mother's maiden name as Krupp.

Please feel free to email me if you have any information.

Thanks.
