I have a Joseph Kugelmann I know NOTHING about except he might be a brother of my great great grandfather Louis Kugelmann born in Altona Holstein Prussia (Germany). Please feel free to look at my tree and see if anything addes up.

I am happy to open this board and look forward to lots of useful exchanges here.

My KUGELMANN ancestors lived in Hessen, Germany... generally in the area surrounding Kassel, Germany (Meimbressen, Abterode Ehrsten, Zierenberg, Ho(o)f, Eschwege, etc. I have a good amount of info about them ... but am always looking for more :-)

I haven't (yet) traced any of "my" KUGELMANN branches to Danzig; but of course it's more than possible that one of them left the Hessen vicinity for Danzig at one point. I've centainly found they moved on to various places, including Hamburg and the USA.

We'll just have to keep looking and perhaps link up our trees in the future.

Anyone familiar with a family headed by Joseph and Josephine Kugelmann; appear to have come to US through Louisiana between 1873-1875; children: Charles, Louisa, Joseph (my 2G grandfather), Alfred, Emil, and Mary; they wound up in New Jersey; my GGrandfather, Emil married Madeline Behr in NJ and bore my Grandfather Alfred.

We also have Kugelmann relatives, still living in germany. The line goes back to Danzig, Poland. Alfred Kugelmann, born Nov.5 1876 in Danzig-Langfuhr. Died Aug. 8 1950, in Laufenburg Germany. He married a Martha Kunkel. Born Aug. 14 1882 in Danzig. Died Sept.15 1954, Laufenburg.
