My great grandfather, Peter Kundert (b. 1863) came from Canton Glarus in 1892 from Switzerland with his wife, Elsbeth (b. 1864). Her maiden name was Gehrig. Peter's sister, Barbara, lived in the New York area. After Peter died (date unknown), Elsbeth remarried and took the last name of Held (sp?).
My mother has all the paperwork, and she's sending copies to me shortly. She doesn't like computers so I'm taking up the cause. I'll have more information soon, what little we have. if anyone knows about when Peter died, or more about their family back in Glarus, feel free to contact me.
