Jacob S. Kunkle was born in Lancaster Pennsylvania, about 1820-1825, according to information on the death certificate of his son John Albert Kunkle, who was born in Lancaster Ohio, (according to that same death certificate.) He was born about 1865/1866. I have many land records that show that Jacob and his son John lived on adjoining farmland in Elsworth Kansas from 1886 to 1891, the year that Jacob died. Jacob was widowed before they came to Kansas. I also have a record from the Probate Court of Elsworth County Kansas, which listed an inventory of property at the time of his death, with his son John A. Kunkle as administrator of the estate. I am trying to find out where in Pennsylvania Jacob S. Kunkle was born, his wife's name and his parents names. In checking the Census' I have found several possibilities, but no proof as to which of the Jacob S. Kunkles is actually my great, great grandfather. I know from older family members that Jacob had two brothers: Adam and David. Jacob's father is my "missing link". I have a copy of the disk that I bought from James E. Kunkle a few years ago. I appreciate so much all of the work that he has done on the Kunkle family line and I have contributed as much as I could to that record. James thought that my family was connected to a different Jacob Kunkle, but my research has proven that it wasn't the right family, but there still might be a connection. If I can find the parents of my Jacob S. Kunkle, I think that my whole line will be connected to the families in those records. If any one can help me I would certainly appreciate it!
