Thanks Jerry!

I am descended directly from Augusta's sister, Josephine. I have more information on the Jagodzinskis and several pictures of Gusta with her mother and siblings. I would be happy to share if you are interested. Do you know if Henry and Augusta married in Chicago or Washington? I would like a copy of their marriage record. You can reach me directly at d.civgin@comcast.net.

Susan

Hi

Yes, we have the right family. Henry H. is Hans H.'s son and Augusta Jagodsnski, was his wife, b. ~1878 in Poland. Their son Edmund (or Edwin in many records) was my mother-in-law's father. Unfortunately, she just passed away this past Thanksgiving. We also are in regular contact with Maymie's grandchildren who live in the Seattle area.

What is your Kupers line?

We actually have the Kupers family pretty well lined out and documented from Hans on down to present. If you'd like a family summary please send me your e-mail address or a snail-mail address and I can send you a summary and then try to answer any specific questions you have that I may be able to address.

I would also appreciate any additional information you may have on this family.

Cheers

Jerry

Just posted inquiry on Kuper board for a Henry (b. about Jul 1875) and Augusta Kuper (also Cooper or Kupers). Augusta's maiden name was either Jackowiak (Jackwalt) or Jagodzinski. She was born in Poland and lived in Chicago in the late 1800's before migrating to Sprague, Lincoln Co. WA. Children, Mamie, Edmund, Helen and Henry. Any information appreciated, if you think my Henry is the son of your Hans H.
Hans H. Kupers Germany/Washington State USA

I am looking for information on Hans (Huntz) H. Kupers, born May 12, 1835 in Germany (possibly in the Schleswig-Holstine area). Hans and his first wife (?) had two children: Henry, Johannes (and possibly a third, Kenneth). His wife died in 1878. He remarried to Mrs. Catherina Shutter, of Germany. She had a son Gust from her previous marriage. They immigrated to the United States in 1883. They lived in Chicago, IL for several years where Hans worked as a bricklayer. They moved west to Washington State (possibly via Minnesota) in 1885 and after several moves homesteaded in the Harrington/ Mohler area of eastern Washington, USA where their family have owned and operated several large wheat farms every since. The extended family, as far as we can tell, is now primarily concentrated in Washington State and California.

I would appreciate any additional information you may be able to provide!

Cheers

Jerry Sehlke
Idaho Falls, Idaho USA
waterbug@ida.net
