Hello, my name is Courtney Renee Kuznicki, and this is my first time on here. I am trying to find more information in regards to my father's side of the family. My dad is Thomas Allen Kuznicki, he was born in Gary, Indiana and now resides with my mom, Carol Ann Kuznicki (maiden name: Hoyt) in Valparaiso, Indiana, near Chicago.
I am currently living in Oak Harbor, Washington.
I have an older brother who is serving overseas, Christopher Ryan Kuznicki.
I'm trying to figure out who I could possibly be related to on here, etc.

Hi Mark-
I was just surfing on the Kuznicki surname and linked to your posting. I am a descendand of Anthony (Anton) Kuznicki who immigrated to the USA about 1880 from Germany/Poland.
He was born bet: 1858-1869 and d: 1919 in Posen, Presque Isle Co., MI. He married his first wife, Francescia Dembny in Posen, MI in 1888. I wonder if your Grandfather, Peter could be a brother of my 2nd Gr Grandfather, Anton?

Kuznicki Family Reunion

A reunion for all descendants of the Kuznicki family of the Presque Isle County area of Michigan is currently in the planning stages. The family traces its history to Anton Kuznicki, who was born c. 1858-1869 (exact date unknown) in Poland and immigrated to the Presque Isle area about 1880. Anton died 6 Jan 1919 and is buried in St. Casimir Cemetery in Posen, MI. We are interested in attracting relations descended from Anton and his 15 children who reached adulthood. The tentative date for the reunion is July 23, 2005 in Belknap, Presque Isle Co, Michigan. If you are interested in learning more about the reunion, please contact me at tanner@umich.edu.

My Kuznicki family immigrated to Germany from Posen, Poland probably in the 1920's and then to Canada in the 1950's. My grandfather, Josef Kuznicki was born 27 January 1902 in Posen, Poland. His parents were Peter Kuznicki and Katharine Plaszcoyeski. I believe that Peter Kuznicki was born in Posen in the 1870's.

I understand there a lot of Kuznickis in Michigan and Ohio. I would be interested in where the connections in Posen may lie.

It's been too long without a Kuznicki surname board! So I got permission from Ancestry to create one! There are a lot of us out there doing Kuznicki research and it will be much easier to make contact with our own board!

My Kuznicki family settled in the Maple Ridge/Krakow Twp area of Presque Isle, Michigan in the late 1800s. The earliest ancestor is Anton (Anthony) Kuznicki. He had 2 wives, 1st Frances Dembny who bore 6 children before her death in 1899. His 2nd wife, Augusta Dehring, bore 11 children.
