The names you mentioned are very familiar. My husband's grandmother was Lula Laabs. Other siblings were Esther, Alma, William, Leo, George, Ernie, Milton, Alice. Their parents were Herman and Mary Laabs. They lived in Freeland Township, Yellow Medicine County and would have had a Canby address. Alma and her family still live on the family farm which has become a Century farm having been owned by Laabs family members for more than 100 years. My sister in law has more information if you need.
