Yes, I am very interested. Who were the parents of your LaBeff ancestor? I know that Henry had two older sisters and that his parents died when he was only a small child. I found him at 12 years old in Texas with a family from Smackover, AR. I beleive I have located the younger sisters granddaughter and she said her grandmother didn't like to talk about her childhood because she was raised by a family that used her as a servant. Did your ancestor have any siblings?

I have been looking for this line for over 30 years and have some assumptions but no proof yet.

My direct line email is gsyerby@netscape.net

Thanks,
Sue (LaBeff) Yerby

My maternal grandmother was Ella Mae LaBeff of ElDorado, AR. I know from research that the Labeffs of AR, LA, and TX all came from two brothers that came down to Lousianna from Canada during the period of French migration. They both married local German-American Farmers daughters and that's how it all began. I have more info but would have to look it up. Let me know if you are interested.
scienceteacher@consolidated.net

These are the parents of Henry LaBeff . Henry was born January 16, 1855 in Hill County, Texas. Reilly died when Henry was an infant and his mother, Eliza, died five years later. Cannot trace any records from Hill County as to place of death/buriel. Would like to continue lineage but am at a standstill. Henry had two sisters whom he lost contact with after the death of his mother. If you have any information regarding immigration of Reilly from France, Eliza's maiden name, or possiblly the names of the Henry's sisters whom we have no record of, please contact D'Ann LaBeff Hurta.

My father's name was Henry Carlton LaBeff-grew up in West Texas. Dad is now deceased. My grandfather's name: Tom Dewitt LaBeff. Sketchy records because children scattered. Tom (my grandfather), Uhl (sp?), Henry (my father's namesake)-has decendents in Alpine, TX, Bud, Haley-died young with TB in Pyote, Garter, Lucille. Great Grandfather was 5 when parents died-we don't know where he was until 12 yrs. old; left and went to Karnes Co. & cowboyed. Went back up to Bryan area and married Blanche Bryan (Her father owned a gin.) We believe they are buried in Hill Co. Would be interested in any information you may have. How are you connected to LaBeffs?
