Mother Penny La'Borde daughter of Ellis Laborde and
Versie Hollingsworth. Don't know any deeper details
from my grandfather, Ellis, but I do know he was
in Marksville and his ancestors came from France. I also
know that one ancestor was a Bordelon who was the first
to come to Louisiana. Thus, Bordelonville was created.
He also had a sister named Christine.

Does anyone have any information on Letty Dunn, who lived with the Labordes in Beaumont, TX in 1920? The Laborde's names are:
I.J. (a blacksmith), Emma L., Eldie, Louise, and B.L. They moved from Louisiana to Beaumont. Letty is listed as "Lottie Donn" on Ancestry.com. The Labordes are listed as "Laborder".

I believe Letty is my grandmother's sister. They were orphaned at a very early age in Rapides Parish, LA. My grandmother is Cora Lee Dunn Cale. Their parents were Valentine Dunn and Letty Vestal Dunn. They also had other sisters: Irene and Beatrice. My grandmother didn't know she had sisters, and I only recently found out about them. Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Married Corinna Almeyda, born March 17, 1880 in Havana, Cuba, died November 11, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY. Family lived in Spring Valley, NY for a time, had a hotel/rooming house in Spring Valley, called 'La Maison Laborde'.

My surname is de Laborde, my ancestors left France for England. At some stage a part of the family dropped the "de". My Grandfather emigrated to South Africa where I currently live. My family still has the "de", I have 3 brothers and we are the only de Labordes in SA.

Desparately seeking info for Max & Jane's daughter, Penny. She remembers little of her past and I'm trying to compile a tree for her. Max was the son of Homer Ross Laborde who was the son of Simon Edward Laborde of PA. I have found lots on the labordes in Pa, but nothing after Homer and his siblings. I know Homer married Enola I believe "Shearer", but I can find no info on her and I have NOTHING on Max's wife other than I know her name was "Janee" (not sure of spelling) Angelic ?? b. 4/7/1914, she got her ss# in W.V. in 1969. Seeking information on the above- Trying to find the husband & Father of ANNA DICKINSON LABORDE. Anna had a miniature portrait painted of her by Charles Fraser, of Charleston,S.C. in 1838. She was the sister-in-law of ANNA LIZA WEBBER DICKINSON.I have the following info on LABORDES:
Extracts from The Marion Star , 1873
November 12, 1873

Dr. Maximilian LaBORDE has died. He was born June 5, 1804, and died Nov. 6, 1873. - "Phoenix-
Maximilian LaBorde and General James Jones established the Edgefield Advertiser in 1836. LaBorde was born in Bordeaux, France in 1804
LaBorde became a professor at South Carolina College (later University of South Carolina) in 1842. He established the Wayside Hospital for wounded Confederate soldiers and became president of South Carolina College in 1861. He headed up the Association for the Relief of South Carolina soldiers, which, by 1864, had shipped more than $1.1 million in materials and supplies to South Carolina soldiers. On one occasion when soldiers tried to force their way through the gates of the campus, LaBorde stood guard with a loaded pistol. LaBorde was president until 1865 and died in 1873.

Pierre Fabian LaBorde, brother of Maximilian,was born in 1807. He attended South Carolina College but left in 1824 to work at The Advertiser. When Maximilian left Edgefield in 1840, Pierre LaBorde bought his brother's share and became co-publisher with William Francis Durisoe. LaBorde believed in state's rights and opposed the U. S. Bank. At first LaBorde ran translations of French poetry and prose, but after a few weeks, he turned to discussions of cotton and corn. He resigned because of poor health in 1840, turning everything over to Durisoe, editor and publisher. LaBorde died in 1850.

I'm looking for information on Alexander LaBorde (b. 1808 in Green Bay, WI; d. 1851 in Green Lake, Fond Du Lac Co., WI), son of Jean-Baptiste LaBorde dit Sangregret (1772-??) and Marguerite Machard Chevalier (1778-??) who married Josephine/Josette Houle (b. 12 May 1813 in Green Bay, WI; d. Bet. 1900-1910 in Green Lake, Fond Du Lac Co., WI), daughter of Joseph "Cap" Houle (1778-1879) and Josephine/Josette Carbonneau [dit Provencal] (1799-1880).

The children of Alexander and Josephine [Houle] LaBorde are as follows:
1. Rosalie LaBorde (b. 15 Apr 1830 in Green Bay, Brown Co., WI; d. 17 Jan 1906 in Antigo, Langlade Co., WI), married Joseph LeRoy (1831-1920), son of Francois LeRoy and Therese L'Ecuyer. Joseph and Rosalie [LaBorde] LeRoy had 13 children.

2. Elizabeth "Eliza" LaBorde (b. 21 Jul 1831 in WI; d. 1 Nov 1909 in Chariton, IA), married (1) John Lacey, (2) Franklin Mercy, (3) Joseph LaPinere / Frax.

In reply to the Louisiana Labordes, my gg-Grandmother was a Laborde. Some research shows her family coming from Tartas, France.My earliest connection is Jean Laborde I, born ca. 1683.After the Laborde family arrived in the states, I have record of Pierre Laaborde I, as the surgeon at Pointe Coupee Post,and also Avoyelles Post. My connection to this family is through the Desautels of Point Coupee and Avoyelles Parishes. Mighty colorful ancestry. Love comparing notes and maybe getting more information. Never enough, if you know what I mean.

I am trying to find more information on Laura LaBorde. I have searched the Pierre LaBorde Family and found two. However, they do not have much informatin on either. Perhaps some of you could help.
This is what I know or think I know...
She married Robert Redd who was orginally from Mississippi. I believe that they had around five children. Judy Hester Redd McClendon was born in 1904. I am not sure what order she was in, but she could not have been the oldest. I was told by my mother that Laura LaBorde's father was a doctor from France, and her mother was from Marksfull, LA. Robert Laura pretty much settled raised their family in Pineville and Alexandria. If any of this sound familar the tinest bit, please do not hesitate to reply.

Family history claim Jean Baptiste LaBORDE's line comes from Didace MOUET and Louise DeLOUVGINY de la PORTE born 1701 in Tres Riviers, Quebec. It is claimed that Louis de La BORDE son of Didace MOUET is the father of Jean Baptiste La BORDE. I can find no information on Louis de la BORDE. Thanks for any help you can give me
