Keeseville — Donald J. LaBounty, 67, of Hill Street in Keeseville, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at the Fletcher Allen Healthcare Center in Burlington, Vt.
He was born in Keeseville on April 21, 1934, the son of Francis and Anna May (LaMountain) LaBounty.
Mr. LaBounty married the former Cora Rivers on June 29, 1957, at St. John's Church in Keeseville.
He was a contractor, having worked with Gerald Everleth in Plattsburgh. He was a communicant of St. John's Church in Keeseville.
Donald enjoyed building small-scale homes and other woodworking projects; he was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Cora LaBounty; two sons and daughters-in-law, Francis and Tonya LaBounty of Plattsburgh and Ronald and Delores LaBounty of Plattsburgh; two daughters and one son-in-law, Sandra Orsi of Saranac Lake and Myra and Scott Robare of Wayne, W.Va.; one sister, Agnes Goodrow; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, Nov. 19th, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. John's Church in Keeseville, with Rev. Garvin Demarais, pastor, celebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Donations in his memory may be made to the families of the victims of the September 11th tragedy.
