Fred LABS

My ggrandfather Fred LABS, born 1854 in Hinterpommern, married Auguste RUSCH in 1878, and emigrated to Nebraska in 1879. We can't determine where he was born, who his parents were, or anything previous to his marriage. Any suggestions gratefully accepted! Thanks!
Fredrick LABS, Amherst, Nebr.

This is an up-date to my earlier posting. We have learned that g-grandfather Fred LABS was b 03 Aug 1854 in Heyde near Arnhausen, Schivelbein-Belgard, Pommern (Pomerania), son of Carl Friedrich Wilhelm LABS, who d before 1879, and Johanna Henrietta Friedrika RADTKE / RADKE. Fred had at least one brother Johann who married Carolina STIEG in 1895. I think he had been married previously. He also had at least one sister Wilhelmine who married Cark REICKOW in 1883. These families all lived near Schivelbein. As far as I know, Fred, who m 1879 to Augusta RUSCH, was the only one of this LABS family to come to the US.

I'm happy to share any data I have on this family.

Hi Mike:
My dad, Harold Godbersen, was contacted by Barb Scheer about her grandfather, Reinhard Labs, to see if he had pictures, etc. As it turns out, he has quite a few pictures as Reinhard Labs was my grandmother's brother. Her name was Minna Labs, daughter of Carl Labs and Auguste Hoeck.

I will visit your Labs website and get what information I can from that. My sisters and I are working on a family scrapbook and would like to include as many "long lost" relatives as we can find on the family tree. Thanks for your help!

Lois

Hello Mike, My name is Barb Scheer and my maiden name was Labs. I'm just starting out on my journey and hoping I might help you as much as you could help me. I don't know alot about my history and don't even know if we're related. What caught my attention is your grandpa's name August. See my dad's name is Melvin August Labs and my grandfather was Rheinard Labs but that's all the futher back I know as of right now. All of our information was distroyed in a flood so I'm going on little or nothing right now. My dad was born in Elkorn,Ne. and they lived there while my dad was a child. My grandpa died when my dad was just a kid, 13 I believe. If this helps you in anyway that means you could also help me as much as I could help you, so please reply to me and let me know. Thanks alot, Barb
