Hi, My father in law is Grant Francis Alfred Lachance. He was born in Kingston, Ontario. He live at 49 Verwood Avenue, Ontario. His father was Francis Joel Lachance and
his mother was Jean Lucy Lachance (nee McGill) born in England.
His Grandparents were Francis Julius Lachance and Loretta (Laura) Lachance (nee O'Brien) They are believed to have drowned in Feb 1938 crossing one of the lakes.
The furthest back we have got are his Greatx2 Grandparents who were Julius and Euphrosyne ( although there are various different spellings of her Christian name. (Ulfrosen and Euphrozyne to name a couple.
We live in Leeds, Yorkshire, UK and would welcome any information anyone could give us as information is sparse in the UK.

I am looking on information on the Lachance's from or around the Potosi, MO area. Know that Elmer and Gladys Lachance were biological parents. Have located graves of them in Potosi. Know that Elmers' father was Ferdinand "zep" Lachance, and mother was Mary Schutte, and Ferdinands' parents were Joseph Lachance and Mary Boyer, that is as far as I have been able to trace positively. Any assistance you may be able to provide would help me out so much. Want to find out heritage for myself and children, etc...

I have Hannah as having 11 children.
I have Rose as only having Hannah as her only child.
I have No war info on Peter. I havent found a sister to Hannah in my searching. So your grandmother is sister to my grandmother Florence.
I have a marriage date of 14 April 1863 for Peter and Rose.
Do you have any info on the Ryans that Florence married into?

My grandmother is Marie Viberta Gonyaw she married Edward Gordon. I would like to find a birth record for Hannah La Chance Gonyaw, some records that Rose Goyett who married Peter La Chance, filed for a pension (after Peter died) from Peter's service in the Civil War, talk like Peter and Rose never had any children, although one page lists Hannah as a daughter. I don't know if she didn't understand the papers or if she was just indicating she didn't have children who could support her, but one or two pages says her and Peter were never married before and they never had children. I have him with a daughter of Hannah born 1874 in Bay City and husband Charles Gonyaw born 1863 Bay City married 30 Dec 1890 in Mi and had a daughter Florence(My Grandmother)

There is an "E. LaChance" listed in the Florida death records. It gives the year of death as 1924 in Marion County, FL. Summerfield is in Marion County. This may be the one you are looking for.

You can get info on ordering certificates from the state of Florida at the MyFlorida website.

I have info on 2 Oliver LaChances' from Clayton, NY.
The first was married in 1872 (from church records)(I have no birth date) and then his son Oliver, b 1873 & married 1895.
Could be there was another Oliver in line, I don't have parents of 1st Oliver.

Guyon line and Guerin dit LaFontaine line

While looking at the site www.grandesfamilles.org and my brother's line from Michel Guerin dit LaFontaine, Lusignan, Poitou, France (married Jeanne Veron), I also noted the Guyon family line. So many similiarities in first names, etc. Is it possible that there is a connection between these two families? Did the name Guyon evolve into Guerin somewhere along the line? Would appreciate hearing people's thoughts on this.

Sorry, my Gentles and Blackwells are from England. Both my grandfather (Gentle) and grandmother (Blackwell) were born in London and made their way to Canada separately. My Fr. Cdn. roots are via Deschenes (Miville), Michon, Moreau dit Duplessis and Smith, all back to early 1600's. Good luck with your search.

My grandfather Edgard,or Edward was born in Canada, immigrated to the states. Moved to Pittsburg, kansas. My grandmother Josephine Besse Lachance died sometime between 1908 and 1915. He remarried a Josephine Klimock and moved to Summerfield ,Florida. I can find no Death certificates on any of them or information. I know nothing about where in Canada he was from, no birth info either.

Well Germaine apparently was born in Quebec? (Lourde) not sure that is what they have mentioned.
Germaine's mother died when she was very young , she had to raise her three brothers. Napoleon who did live in Chibogamau, Rosaire and Honore who have passed on.
Germaine married Edwouard? Rolland Moffatt and had 9 children.
Her mother Alvenise maybe died in 1914?

I was trying to figure out the wives of Benjamin Joseph LaChance, and from there the mother of Benjamin Harrison Lachance born 1888. I see from your note about the grave marker, that Sophia Kellerman must be the mother, but some other notes say Millie was the mother. My instinct tells me always believe the grave marker. If Millie was the first wife, was she married to a Beeves? and do you have date of death?

so from the grave marker it would appear that Sophia is the mother of Benjamin, not Millie, I wonder if Millie may have died in childbirth and Benjamin J. married Sophia who raised Benjamin H.
