James E. "Jim" Ladwig

Graveside services for James E. "Jim" Ladwig, 67, were held Feb. 8, 2003 at the Lusk Cemetery.

Jim Ladwig died Feb. 3, 2003, at the Lutheran Medical Center in Denver, Colo.

Jim was born Jan. 26, 1936, and was raised in the Jireh, Manville and Lusk areas.

Jim joined the Air Force and was stationed in the Denver, Colo. area until his honorable discharge. He married Patricia Weiland of Wheat Ridge, Colo. on May 5, 1956.

Jim loved farming and turned his passion into a career as a florist in the Denver area. He was a 20 year veteran of the Wheat Ridge fire department, as well as an Emergency Medical Technician. Jim enjoyed working at all things mechanical. He retired from Moly Corp in Denver, as a plant maintenance engineer. He enjoyed spending his retirement time in his cabin in the mountains of Colorado and at his home in Wheat Ridge. He was a loving father.

His son Scott recalls; "Dad was always proud of his Wyoming roots and enjoyed frequent trips to visit family and friends in the area. For most of my childhood, I actually thought Dad's likeness was used for the Wyoming Cowboy symbol."

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; three children, Cheryl Ladwig-Pettid and her husband Marc of Nathrop, Colo.; Scott Ladwig and his wife Shelley of Denver;
Tim Ladwig and his companion Keith Malwitz of Denver;
four grandchildren,
four great-grandchildren, brothers Dick and Harold, and sisters Autumn, Ruth, Helen and Lucille.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Society.
