Hello - I am searching for information on Emilie Louisa Ladwig Manz, my great grandmother. She was born 1846 and died in 1879 Paynesville MN. She came to the United States with her father and sister in 1857. Her mother may have died in Germany or shortly after arriving in the states. She was married to Herman Ludwig Manz in Fond du Lac County, WI in 1865. Her mother's maiden name may be Heller, but I don't know for sure.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'd appreciate any leads on her side of the family.

Thanks!

Susan Manz Graham

Were your relatives possibly from Stolp, Pommern? I have studied my Ladwig roots and find they always use family names rearranged. I have a Auguste Fredrika Caroline Ladwig in my family that came to Milwaukee in 1868. She was one of 7 siblings; parents that came here were Heinrich Augusta and Theresa Ladwig. Your relative's name sounds very close to our family's names. Carol Ladwig McWade

He is from their daughter Theresa's line. We would be interested in hearing from descendants of the couple's other children; Francis, Augustina, Paul, Anna and Frederick.

I am 7th generation of Ladwigs in Milwaukee. Heinrich August Ladwig and Theresa (Himerdinge) Ladwig arrived on the S.S. Union in New York in June 1868. They had 6 children listed on the ship's manifest: Francis, Augustina, Theresa, Paul, Anna and Frederick. They went from New York to Chicago and to Milwaukee within a year. Living in Milwaukee, I have been able to collect lots of information on marriages, census records, deaths, burials, naturalizations, etc.

Does anyone want to trade or share information?

Emilie Caroline Ladwig

Emilie Caroline Fredericke Ladwig was my gg grandmother. If you know any more information about her parents or their ancestors it would be of great help to me. Emilie Caroline married Gotthilf August Julius Genz in 1874 in Prussia but then they both died in Wisconsin. I was wondering at what point they moved to the United States and possibly any other information. Currently, I only hold information about about Gotthilf's parents and Emilie's parents and that's as far as my line goes, so if you have any information at all, I would really appreciate it. Thank you,
Adrian

Hoping that some of you Manitowoc County Ladwig family members can assist me. I am searching for any information regarding the family of Wilmer Martin Ladwig, born 1914 in Cherokee, IA; married Vera Susan Jones (1917); and Wilmer died in Manitowoc County,WI. His father was reportedly one Otto Ladwig; and I am wondering if this could be the Otto Paul Gerhard Ladwig, born 1875, that I am searching for. Otto. P.G. Ladwig came to USA about 1900 from Koslin/Pommern; a painter by trade. He still has a living nephew in Germany who would like to meet his American relatives.

Any clues would be appreciated.

Our Ladwig family branch arrived in Milwaukee via Montreal from Germany in 1855. Do your records indicate any information on any Ladwig family emigration during that time period. John Frederick Ladwig, his wife D. Sophia (Pagelsdorf) and about 9 of his children came to Milwaukee, then traveled to Jefferson county, WI to homestead there.

Any information you may have about Milwaukee records would be appreciated.
