Hi Chris
I have looked on Ancestry.ca and gone through the records of Riviere des Prairies for the year 1778 and can't find the marriage record! I could be my limited French/the bad copies of the records.

As Joseph Beique Lafleur and his 2nd wife Charlotte Hunault Deschamps are direct ancestors of mine I would really love a copy of his 1st marriage so I have proof of his parents. I just dont want to record the wrong ancestor.

Does anyone out there have a copy of this marriage of Joseph Beique Lafleur to Marguerite Boulard/Cambry.?

Thank you so much Chris!
Now my problem is that Tanguay says that the Joseph Beique Lafleur that married Marguerite Boulard , was a son of Joseph Beique Lafleur and Catherine Masson?
Hyacinthe and this Joseph are brothers. So are there many errors in Tanguay??
Looking for the marriage record of Joseph Beic Lafleur and Marguerite Boulay. Only reference to this marriage is in record of Joseph's 2nd marriage to Charlotte Hunalt dit Deschamps. in the record of Feb 1786 in Repentigny it states that he is the widower of Marguerite Boulay. Iam trying to find out who Joseph's parents are. It also states in the 2nd marriage record that he is from "paroisse des prairies"

I descend from their son Thomas and his wife Aurilla. what is your line? I am in regular contact with a cousin from California who descends from Louis and Catherine's other son Louis.
Hi,

I see that we both go back to Mary (Meenish) O'Connor!

She is twice my many Great's Gramma. I have tried so hard to find more about her than that name and that she was Cree, probably born in Northern Quebec near Moose Factory but I have found no more. She married second time as you might know, Richard Stevens. I have great grandparents from both of her marriages. I recently went to Red River Manitoba where she is buried at St Andrews Anglican on the Red, for a reunion of the descendants. There were Thomas's there too.

Cheers,
Judy Webber
Just started looking and believe my gggrandfather was james LaFlair (possibly previously LaFleur. All I know is he wasborn in Cananda about 1831 and Married Ann Higgins (born abt 1834 in Ireland-came to New Brunswick Cda abt 1850) Believe they were married in upstate NY abt 1853. Children were Louisa, Patrick, Michael, Mary Ann and Joseph. Story is James and Ann had a Beer Garden possibly near India or Chippawa Bay NY. Ann and children moved to Saginaw MI before 1870 then some children on to Duluth MN

I would love to view your LaFleur history back to 1600 if you have a site I can visit

Anyone else who knows of this James LaFlair and Ann Higgins please contact me at deewin@ec.rr.com

There are many families called "LaFleur," it is one of the "dit names," second names taken by soldiers or other of the original colonists to New France.

Sometimes over the generations, a branch of the family will only use the dit name, as was the case on my mother's family, who descend from Julien-Charles Sevigny-dit-LaFleur, but who now go by LaFleur.

Our LaFleur's settled in Fitchburg, Massachusetts; my g-grandfather was born there in 1893. I don't know of any connection to LaFleur's in Woonsocket, or to Hooksett, NH, but it could be there.

You'll probably want to check out the American French Genealogical Society in Woonsocket to see if you can work your line back further.

Marc

I have no name of siblings or parents. Paulina Boone b.d. abt. 1898 died about 1930. Her parents were Adrian Boone and Virginia Arnaud. She was widowed in the 1920 census with 4 children....Rene, Media, Hammy(my father)& Theodore.
They were given up in 1921 when she remarried. I am trying to find out about The late Theodore Lafleur(my grandfather)Does any of these names sound familiar? Area they lived in was Mamou Eunice and could be anywhere in cajun country in louisiana. Hopeing to hear from someone/Jane

With a hard head and a curious mind, I have been able to provide my children with a history of their strong, proud lineage.

I have found lost family, including a 1st cousin she grew up with and thought was dead, and several 2nd and 3rd cousins. We have formed friendships and become allies in research.

Sharing info I found on my own during my visits with her helped her open up and provide valuable information that has assisted me greatly.

Be forewarned tho, you may find unsettling info.
Hi
Did Tharsile Charron died in winter and was buried in the spring ? That was common at one time. They would just put the coffin in the crypt . This was due to the fact that the ground was just too frozen for a gravedigger with a spade. Today it is no problem with modern equipment!
The entries I find funny are when a baby is christened before it is born!I'd like to know how that is done! Of course the Priest/Minister in most cases have reversed the date.

Hi Gilberte
My great great grandparents were Bruno MOREAU and Rosalie LAFLEUR. Rosalie was born about 1830 possibly on Allumette Island. I have never found a marriage record or christening record record for her. I have not been able to tie her into any of the Lafleur lines I've looked into. It is a possibility that the Lafleur name in her case was a "dit" name which make thinks difficult.

Deb

Louis LaFleur and Catherine Pitre of Quebec and Franklin Co New York

Louis LaFleur married Catherine Pitre around 1847 in New York, I believe. They had at least four children; Fanny, Mary, Thomas, and Louis JR. This family was mostly residing around Malone, Franklin, New York. They were Canadians with roots in France. If anyone is familiar with this family please contact me. Catherine Pitre's ancestry is very nicely documented. I am very interested to find Louis Sr.'s parents.
Stan,
Thanks for getting in touch with me. I believe you are the first I've come acrossed with a connection to my LaFleur line. My second great grandmother was Janet "Nettie" LaFleur, who married Joseph Alba Hall Rowe. Nettie was the daughter of Louis Jr.(brother to your Thomas, I believe). I'm going to be getting my LaFleur information together in the next few days, and I will email you. Can't wait...
Cody Greene
crazycoyote33@yahoo.com
Hi Gilberte
You are very welcome. My great great grandmother was a Lafleur but I have never been able to tie her in with other families so I know how frustrating research can be.

By the way I may have found Rose's parents marriage which lists her grandparents. The 1st names are a little different.
Thelephose Cuillerier son of Alphonse Cuilllerier, farmer, and Hypolite Leduc of the parish of St Timothie married Rose de Lima Brunet daughter of Noel Brunet, farmer and Elmire Cardinal . The marriage took place 18 Feb 1829 at st Louis de Gonzague . county of Beauharnois.

I found Benoit Lafleur's death record he died 3 Apr 1914 in East Hawksberry. It says his parents were : Theodole Lafleur and Virginie Boisseau! Her name was reversed and hard to read in the marriage record. He died of Typhoid. Also found his christening: 9 Feb 1880 at St. Scholastuque.

I am researching my grandmother's line and I have that her mother's (Lucinda LaFleur b. 18 Dec 1890) father's name was Don P. LaFleur (might be Don P. D. LaFleur). He may have resided in Calcasieu Parish. I have what I think is a marriage date for him, 14 Jan 1887 and wife named Alfora Reevs. Lucinda resided in Elton, LA (Jefferson Davis Parish) at one time and is buried there. Any information on these two would be appreciated!

Thanks.

Sherry Jester

Hello, I hope you are still on this board, I only began my family quest in 2006, and just recently found a connection to an Edward LaFleur in Woonsocket, born 11 Feb 1889, St-Michel-d'Yamaska, and I think died in RI in 1968. He is my 1C3R, his brother is my GG Grand: Joseph LaFleur who was 19 years older and died in Hooksett, NH. My sister and I visited Yamaska in the fall and couldn't find any LaFleurs so now finding out where they went?

Best, Janine LaFleur Penfield

I never got an email invite from you.

I have Joseph LaFleur Jr. born in 1821 not 1806. I think you may have someone confused. I have a Joseph Louis Guillory born March 22, 1806 and married to Adrienne Doucet. Joseph Guillory is the son of Jean Louis Guillory Sr. and Marie Jeanne Fontenot, he is the older brother of Celeste Guillory who married Joseph LaFleur Sr. Celeste Guillory and Joseph LaFleur Sr. had Joseph LaFleur Jr. around 1821. He died roughly 1867-1870.

I am really interested in your Francoi Guillory I and Elizabeth Thomas. I have very limited info on them and it is sketchy.

I know this post is old ........

Anyway I have been trying to find information about Isreal Laflower/Lafleur and his family. It is my understanding that Isreal and ANDREW Lafleur/Laflower were the chidren of Isreal Lafleur and Josephine Emma Berthaiume. Other family information says that ANDREW had married a Minnie Barber in 1898 and then they have nothing. Now I have been researching Minnie Barber in the Whitehall NY area. What I have come up with is:

1900 Census lists Minnie Flower(B09/1877) aged 22, widowed daughter of Perry Barber resided in his household with a 1 year old child by the name of Andrew Flower. Makes some sense.(I am seeing these kinds of changes and different spellings because of information taking or scribing) If Andrew and Minnie married in 1898, she gets pregnant , he dies, baby born 1899, child is approx 1 year old at the time of the 1900 cencus.

Now another family says that Josephine Emma Berthaiume was married first to Isreal Sr. and then to a Joseph "View" Fountaine in 1878. Josephine would have been 19 years old at the time of the second marriage in Whitehall NY and reportedly already had two sons Isreal and Andrew from the first marriage. Isreal Jr. was born in 1874. His mother Josephine would have been 15 at the time.(Not unlikely even today). So I am stuck as to the wherabouts of Isreal Sr. Was Josephine widowed young? Both Isreal Jr and Andrew would have been very young at the time of their Mothers second marriage but are not listed in her household on any available census with her new family.UMMMM.... Did Josephine leave Canada first, leaving behind her husband and two young sons? Maybe not the case, she was married in Church the second time around.

Any one have any information, I am looking at this all like a puzzle. I will be going to research all these names in a collection of Canadian records soon. The more pieces of the puzzle I am armed with, the better my chances of a connection

Thanks
Liz PS: Happy New Year!

Hi wlf

For some reason I did not get a notice that you replied to this post. Sorry for not seeing it sooner.

This family of Pauline and Mary Lafluer/ parents John and Pauline are indeed my connection. Mary may have been only 14 or 15 when she married my great grandfather William Braun but on their marriage certificate she is listed as 17 years old. Her parents are listed as John and Pauline La Fleur.

Please contact me at arlene9999@earthlink.net at this point I do not have much info on John & Pauline. Anything you could share would be greatly appreciated!

Arlene

If you have your dad's full name and date of birth, this is a starting point, Dear. One thing you could do then is search this message board or post a question as to whether anyone has any information on him and his ancestry. From his response to you, you need to know that you may find out something you would wish not to have found out--obviously, he knows something he wishes you would not find out.
