Your Grandfather Edward LaFond was, I believe, one of my dads brothers. Edward Madison LaFond, Born March 31, 1889. Which son of Edwards were you born to? Austin, Morley or Cecil?

The LaFond tree in Canada connected to my family all spell LaFond the way you see it here. Not with a small "f".

My husband's great great grandmother was Sophia LaFond born 5/5/1831 to Jean Baptiste and Marie Anne Courchesne. It was very interesting to see your post and obtain this information. If you have birth and death dates or any other information, I would be most grateful. We are also looking to find information on the LaForce family from the St Francis du Lac or Pierreville area. Sophia LaFond married Louis LaForce in St. Thomas de Pierreville onm 9/29/1857. They moved to Two Rivers Wisconsin after their marriage. If you have any ideas on where I can begin to look, I would again be most appreciative.

I am very interested in finding more information about Anselme Lafond. He is my great great great great grandfather. My father is Ephrem Lafond, my grandfather was Henri Lafond and his father was Joseph Laurent and his father was Anselme Lafond maried to Leocadie Grandmont.Is it the same Anselme. I have been working on my ancestry for quite sometime and have managed to collect some pictures but I am missing a lot of info such as birthdate and death and burial cemetary. I've just been asked to look into the history of a friend whose parents were Jacques GUERIN and Laurence LA FOND, of Quebec, probably married around 1950, maybe slightly before.

I'm going to get whatever dates and other info I can from him but I figured it was worth a shot in the dark to put it out there now anyway on the grounds that you never know when or where you'll find a connection.

Like many of you, I'm a descendant of Pierre de LaFond, born ca. 1590 in St-Laurent-de-la-Barrière, St. Jean D'Angély, Saintes, Saintonge, France, and whose son, Étienne sieur de LaFond, emigrated to Québec around 1640.

I've just started up the Lafond DNA Project, with the goals of confirming relationships among the Lafonds, and trying to determine the ancestry of all the Lafond lineages (and all surname variants) back to before the earliest-known records, even back before the origin of the Lafond surname itself.

I invite all Lafonds to read about the project, and for any male Lafonds (or females who have a male Lafond relative who would be interested) to join, if you are interested in participating. Pierre, Anselme, Agnes, and Olivier Lafond were born in St-Germain in the Drummondville area of Quebec, Canada, in the 1840s and 1850s. Pierre, Anselme and Olivier remained in Quebec, but Agnes married Basile Lavallee and moved first to Marlborough, Massachusetts, USA, and then to St. Joseph, Letellier area, of Manitoba, Canada. In 1934, Pierre and Anselme travelled from Quebec to visit their sister, Agnes.

I have many photographs and documents and would like to locate descendants of these Lafonds.

Norman...wondering if you have children listed for your Joseph Lafond. My great grandfather was Joseph F. and was from Drummondville, QC, according to my aunt. Apparently there were several church fires @ the Catholic church there, so have not been able to trace his parents. US census notes my GG to be born in June of 1858 but in another census he states b1860...wondering if he might be the son of your Joseph...

He immigrated ~1880 to MA.
