information on James LaFoy b 1757 in france d 1839 in wash.co. al.

i am looking for any information on the family of james lafoy that was born in france in 1757 and died in washington county alabama in 1839. i know that he fought in the revolutionary war. on his pension application he states that he came to the united states with his father and a brother but he doesn't list a name for them. his early years were in north carolina. in abt 1791 moved to s.c. in abt 1803 he moved to ga. abt 1812 he moved to wash.co. miss territory then to alabama. i know that his daughter elizabeth married john turner moseley. i would appreciate any information on this family. thank you, diane

That Dee was D. C. & he died in 1978.

I am looking for any information about Pearl Emily Mosley who married Wm. Jerry Donald. One of their daughters is Gladys Eloise Donald who married Wm. Luther Taylor (my MawMaw and PawPaw) who raised their family in Buckatunna, MS. Gladys was born in Gilberttown, AL.

Any help finding who and where about Pearl Emily will be appreciated.

I do now of this family I have been researching for my brother-in-law. His Name is Valley Young LaFoy.We call him V.Y
His Daddy's name is Albert Francis LaFoy from Tuscaloosa, Al. This Albert's Father is Henry Clay son of the !st Albert Francis LaFoy.

Irene, thank you for your input on James Henry LaFoy.
I did find Dee LaFoy and he lives Just outside of Greenville.
we had a short tearful reunion and I have had a few chances to speak to him after finding him In february.
I'll ask him though if he & James Henry were any relation

I knew a Dee LaFoy from Greenville SC. he was my grandfathers half brother my grandfathers name was James Henry LaFoy my grandfather passed away in 1963.

At least the F is capitalised. Don't know if I can help. My adopted parents are James David LaFoy and Freda M. Dixon. They were both borm in the NE & North Central parts of TX. Him 1918, her 1922. They reside in Sherman Tx now. Very extensive Family tracing on Mamms part. Unfortunately, and I'm not sure why, she does'nt have a computer. Does it the old way. With memory, talking to relatives, and keeping copious notes. Daddy does'nt seem to want to get with the Electronic(easier) LOL! way. Actually, he would squeeze money out of a turnip if he could. Great inheritance for me and my little brother, but I would prefer they would enjoy life, since they earned it.

If I remember correctly, my Grandfather's name on my dads side(James D LaFoy), was Syruss(?) Albert LaFoy. Lived in TX.(Came from back East late 1800's.) Trying to get my mother to get a comp, and put all her research online. Stubborn! Actually it's Daddy that's Stubborn.

I was born in Reidsville Ga, on 12/01/52, as Robert McPherson. I was adopted by James D and Freda LaFoy a year later. They now reside in Sherman TX. They were both born in that general area circa 1918-1922. Mama is building an extensive Family Tree on paper. She has'nt quite convinced Daddy yet the this form of communication is easier and faster. She can trace the roots of both the LaFoy's and the Dixons(nee) back to the early 1700's. If you like, email me at john_lafoy@yahoo.com I'm searching, as you can tell because of the adoption, also.

There was a James LaFoy that served in the American Revolution. He was awarded a pension about 1832 when he lived in Washington Co. AL. One of his daughters, Elizabeth m. John T. Moseley. I know he had two other daughters as they were mentioned in his will - Marion and Emily.

i show a census record for a sarah lafoy age 60 with an Albert Lafoy age 23 living with her. I am looking for a Mary Lafoy possible sister or cousin and a Marcella Lafoy possible sister to Albert. Sarah age 60 and Albert were listed as born in South Carolina. The Mary P. Lafoy that I am desperately looking for was married to a J. H. Genery and had a daughter named Elizabeth in 1850. Lafoy who came to New York in 1854 from the
Netherlands(real name Lavooij, pronounced
"lafoy". His son Jacob ,had 7 sons in Iowa.
The oldest son George was my grandfather,
his son Wylie was my father. They immigrated
to Saskatchewan, Canada in 1904 at Gray.
We refer you to Aubrey Lafoy in Milford, Iowa
who has developed a family tree for this family line.
