Hi Kim,
Just reading through the Lafranchi messages.
I have organised a Lafranchi Reunion at the SwissItalian Festa in Hepburn on Sunday 18th October 2009 at Cricket Willow Hepburn-Newstead road Shepherds Flat. Its 1pm-4pm, afternoon tea provided 3pm.
I have collected info on your Pietro Lafranchi born 1st october 1840. Do you have more information on his parents. Trying to work out if he his related to my GrGr Grandfather Giulio Lafranchi who came to Victoria 1855??

Maureen, I was in Petaluma looking for my Pronini line and came across this info on the LaFranchi's..If you will tell me what names you are looking for I will see if I copied them down..Now for Joseph: This is from the 1890 Great Register: Joseph LaFranchi age 44 on 5/18/1876 became naturalized in Prescott, Az. So his documents should be in Arizona.

Here are some of the names I copied:Josephine, Frank, Serfino,Giacinto, Isadore, James, Gindella, Adella, B.F, Clara, Edward, Olympia, Baptist, Morris. They range from newpaper articles for b, m, d, Naturalization.

I have found a Joseph LaFranchi in the Great Register 1890 age 44 Naturalized in Prescott, Az. Could this be yours.

Did you ever get the information you were asking concerning your grandmother's family? Joseph (Giuseppe, who was in Arizona) was her father. She was the older sister of my grandfather, Marino, who was born in Santa Rosa in 1881. There is an interesting article in the Historyof Sonoma Country about Giuseppe and his wanderings. Eugenia, Adele's mother, came to the USA alone, towing Adele with her, and met Giuseppe, presumably in CA. Brave woman: the year was 1875.

Michelle - I've been researching the LaFranchi family for my sister-in-law. I'm not sure yet that this is the same family, but they must be related in some way. Massimino LaFranchi and his family settled in Sonoma area also. Massimino was born in Switzerland in 1874. Is it possible that John is his father??? Lisa

Looking for information on my Great-Great Grandfather. His name is John Lafranchi, born Nov. 1848 in Switzerland. He was married to my Great-Great Grandmother Virginia Pozzi, born 02/12/1861. He came here in 1866 and owned a dairy in Sonoma, CA. Any info on either of these two people would be great.

I am looking for info on my great grandmother she was born(I think ) in Guimaglio, Canton of Ticino, Switzerland on Dec 4, 1871. Her birth name was Adele Effi LaFranchi. She married Archangelo Sartori. I don't know when they married or came to the US. Her mothers maiden name was Righetti.

My great grandmother also went by the name Adelina Lafranchi. Her fathers name was Joseph and there is a Joseph listed in the 1860 census in Arizona, but I don't know if that is her father or not.

I am looking for any information on my Great Grandfather - Peter (Pietro) Lafranchi. Born 01/10/1840 ?Collio Canton Ticino Switzerland.

His father was also Peter (Pietro) Lafranchi and his mother was Johanna - I am a bit vague about her maiden name and am unsure as to whether he had brothers and sisters.

Peter came out to Australia in 1858 and married Sarah Standen in Young New South Wales in 1864. He remarried in 1889 to May Ireland.

I would be extremely grateful for any information.

Hi Robin--
My father had a first cousin on his mother's side that married into the LaFranchi family and an aunt on his father's side that married into the Righetti family.

My father was Theodore Walter BERNARDASCI son of Walter Romaldo BERNARDASCI born in Petaluma, CA and Della Candida TAVERNETTI born in Campbell, CA. Although both my grandparents were born in California, older siblings in both families were born in Switzerland.

My great grandmother was Giacomina Lafranchi, born on 12-21-1838 she was adopted by the Lafranchis, her birth name was DeCarli. Do you have any knowldege ot this in your records.

Her parents were Giuseppe Petro Lafranchi born Dec 14,1843 Coglio, Ticino Canton, Switzerland died july 25, 1871 Santa Rosa, CA married: Eugenia Brigda Righetti born Oct 16,1844 Someo, Ticino Canton, Switzerland died 28, 1933 Petaluma, CA.
