Duddy was my dads brother. My mother speaks very highly of him.I wish that i had the chance to meet the people on my fathers side of the family. I wish that i would have had the chance to meet my father. I never got to know him and it has stuck in my mind and now that he is gone i guess that it doesn't really matter any more. I hope that maybe there is some other Legoo's out there that would like to give me the oppertunity too meet them and maybe i would know if i have some 1/2 brothers and sisters. i am 52 years old and i am sure that a lot of my fathers family is gone by now. I know that my grandmother's name was Matilda.

I believe I did know your dad. He was the uncle of my ex. Your dad had the nickname of Uncle Duddy. I met him several times back in the late 70's. He was tall and thin and I don't remember much else about him. I know there are others in the fmaily that would know more...

I read your message and I think that we might be related My father's name was Albert M Legoo and my name is Albert M Legoo Jr. My mother and father were divorced when i was 6 months old and never met my father. My mothers name was Helen H Hjelm. I also have a sister named Linda. I believe that my grandmothers name was Matilda. You see I have never met any of my fathers side of the family. I found out by Google that my father died back in 2002. I was born Feb,4 1955.My nickname is MOE. I don't know if this helps you or not but I hope that maybe some day i will meet my other family.I would be interested in knowing if I have any 1/2 brothers or sisters.

My kids are Gloria Sommer's grandchildren. ( Their father's name is Gary Sommer) She was the daughter of Albert and Matilda Legoo ( lagoo, seen it both ways.) My kids Lindsey and Josh Sommer are interested in their family history. Please resond if anyone knows more...

hello there, just couruois, i looked up my name on google and found this site. my name is benjamin lagoo, from northern minnesota, my great, great grandpa is benjamin lagoo... from the white earth reservation. our name has been changed over the years from lague, to lagoo.. if there is any simularity in our pasts i would like to hear from you and see if we can piece this all together. there is a lagoo few and far between, if there is a way to keep this going i would love to be a part of it. thanks - ben

Thank you for responding. How would I check that out? I am brand new to this subject area and only have a desktop webtv system which lets you do nothing. And I really want to find info on this. My mother gave me a letter from 1962 written by my bio grandmother who I never knew and in it she writes "My great grandmother's name was Elizabeth Swihart who was born on the Black Hawk revervation, (or the white earth people) in Wayson (Waueson) Ohio." So, of course with this letter of my bio father's mother's tree, I want to know it all and check out the validity of it. If you have any ideas I would be very grateful in hearing them, either on the board, or at my e-mail address which is quack_this@webtv.net. Thanks!!

There is a reservation by the name of White Earth in Minnesota, but it is possible that some of them left the Rez as a group and went to Ohio, hence the name "White Earth People."

I read your post. My Father is Raymond, his father Henry, his father Benjamin. From White Earth Reservation, in Minnesota. I do not have a lot of info. on my fathers people, mabey between us we could figure it out. I do think my father had a half brother Jerome, I know there was a Marvin, also Bobbie Lege- ott.

I have been researching for years on, for my step family, on Harriet Deloria. Turns out she is Harriet Legault dit Deslauriers. She married Paul Revi/Revoir.

Connie, I was wondering if you had even more information about the LaGue's marrying into Chippewa Tribe. I am married to David LaGue from Nay Tah Waush, MN. His father is Theodore LaGue, son of Elsie and Jerome LaGue from Waubun, MN. I have recently started to look into the family history and am really just getting started. We visited the family this month and I got more family names and history. My husband's family is Chippewa. His grandmother Elsie (maiden name Nickaboine) is full blooded. I was just very interested in your information and any tips on further research.

I am looking for my cousin: Paricia Lagoo, of the Chicago area, daughter of Patrick Lagoo killed in a car accident in her youth, mother Alpha Malaponis, granddaughter of Albert Lagoo and Matilda. This group of Lagoos is of the Chipeawa tribe of White Earth Minnesota.

LEGO's in Wisconsin

My father is Robert Norman Lego of Racine, Wisconsin. I remember him telling me that his mother was French Canadian and that there was Native American Indian in our family. Do you know any other history about the Lego's in Wisconsin. My father moved to Pennsylvania in the late 60's. I think he still has one cousin there but I'm not sure.

Many of the Lego family in Wisconsin are associated with the Fond Du Lac Indian Reservation or the Lac COurt Orielles Band. they were originally from Canada (Montreal possibly) but intermarried with the Chippewa and possibly the Sioux. They orignated in WI on Madeline Island, Olivier Lego married a Charlotte Cadotte there in 6 Jan 1839, and had a number of children by her. Some of the family spell the name Lagoo or LaGue.

I'm afraid I can't help you....I'm looking for an old school friend, who lived in South International Falls, MN in the mid 60's. Her name was Deanna Legoo, and she married someone by the last name of Knudson, or Knudsen. I've been looking for her for about 25 years now. She went to a boarding school in Canyonville, OR (Canyonville Bible Academy), which is where I met her. If you should happen to run across any info about her, or happen to know her, please let me know.

I just discovered a lagoo connection and find it challenging because my great grandmother Elizabeth Crego madian name Revoir and her brother Lemuel Revoir have the same mother. Parents of Elizabeth and Lemuel are Paul and Harriet Revior AKA Revi. Harriets maiden name on Elizabeths death certificate is Harriet Delorier and on Lemuels death certificate is Harriet Lagoo. This family listed on Lac Courte Oreilles 1887 Indian census roll 234.
I'm interested how my ggrandmother got her last names. Have you any connection to Crego, Revoir, Delorier? I think Harriets parents are Oliver Delaurier AKA Delarier and her mother Carolina Cadotte.

I am a member of the White Earth Ojibway tribe, Lake Superior band. The Legos were part of this band, the Lac Court Orielles and the Fond Du Lac tribes as well. A Lego, (misspelled legorust) Olivier,(my great great great grandfather was a signer of the treaty of La Pointe. I am not sure at what point the indian comes in, becuase he married a Charlotte Cadotte, a halfbreed Ojibway with some Sioux mixed in. They lived near Superior and Prarie Du Chien. Some Legos lived in CHippewa Falls....please give me more details...I have links to many Lego relatives

I am a descendant of Benjamin Lagoo (Legault/Lego, etc), he was my great great grandfather. I am also in contact with a number of relatives. I am an enrolled member of White Earth. Type in the name Benjamin Lego in the family trees section of this board. You will not be disappointed.

I am looking for Lego's from Minnesotta. There is chippewa and french canadian blood. My husbands great grandfather was John Henry Lego. he married a Lilly Thom or Tom, He died in Calfornia in 1951 from heart disease. He had siblings and may have had some trouble in Minnesotta and changed his first name. He was in the Merchant Marines and docked in California, where Rodney Lego (my husband) was born.

Rodney's fathers name was Raymond Lego. He was born in 1917. His children were named: Rodney Lego, Jerome Lego, Johnny Lego, Jon Lego, Melvin Lego, Benjamin Walter Lego, Raymond Lego, Grace Lego and Corrine Lego.
